PURPOSE: A packet processing apparatus for discriminating duplicated response packets and a processing method thereof are provided to discriminate retransmitted packets and the duplicated response packets due to retransmission with minimum system resources. CONSTITUTION: A packet processing apparatus (1) comprises a session processing part (10), a packet discriminating part (12), a statistical information storing part (14), and a data storage (16). The session processing part sets and manages sessions. The statistical information storing part stores statistical information on packet retransmission. When the sessions are set by the session processing part, the packet discriminating part discriminates retransmitted packets and duplicated response packets using the statistical information. PURPOSE: A traffic treatment method using multiple network interface cards and a network device are provided to use a multiple network interface card to classify fast traffic and perform traffic engineering about a specific application, effectively providing a network service at low costs.
