PURPOSE: A packet processing apparatus and method thereof are provided to rapidly create products by using a bridging algorithm which embodies an FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) in a card which processes packet information for a network. CONSTITUTION: A processor(102) processes packets in a network. A memory unit(104) stores a table for matching the packets in the network. A gate array(103) mediates an interface between the processor and the memory unit. The gate array provides a programmable communication interface between the processor and the memory unit. The processor corresponds to an ASIC(Application Specific Integrated Chip), an NPU(Network Processor Unit), an MP(Multi-core Processor), or an MCP(Many-Core Processor).

PURPOSE: A router packet stream monitoring apparatus and a method thereof using a packet identity inspection are provided to fastly and exactly sense extraordinary traffic. CONSTITUTION: A packet stream reading portion(110) reads out the packet stream inputted to a router. An abnormal packet detection part(120) decides whether the abnormality is occurred or not for the read packet stream. The abnormal packet detection part previously confirms the history information of the packet stream which is previously input and output. A history information storage unit(130) stores the history information for the packet stream which is previously input and output.

PURPOSE: A high speed IP flow mediation apparatus using a network processor is provided to process and mediate IP flow information generated and transferred from an internet high speed circuit to lossless. CONSTITUTION: A server(210) collects flow information about an IP traffic of a high-speed circuit. A network processor board(220) of a NIC form based on a PCI is mounted on the server. The network processor board analyzes the collected flow information. The network processor board transfers the analyzed information to plural flow analysis systems. A flow transmitting unit(214) transfers the collected flow information from the network processor to the board.

A method for generating an IP traffic flow based on a time bucket is provided to prevent an analysis start time from being delayed until a time point at which a next analysis period expires. Required variables are initialized to generate a time bucket-based IP traffic flow(S310), and a current time is checked from a measurement system and fetched(S320). It is checked whether the checked current time has lapsed a CTB(Current Time Bucket)(S330). When a CTBFT(Current Time Bucket Flow Table) and an PTBFT(Previous TBFT) are determined by the checked current time, it is checked whether there are packets in a packet collecting unit(S340). If there are packets, one packet is fetched(S350). A TBT(Time Bucket Timeout) flat is checked to check whether the value is ON(S360).

An apparatus and a method for merging Internet traffic collected from a plurality of lines are provided to process traffic collected from the Internet to generate a merged flow to thereby facilitate a traffic analysis and detailed application analysis. A traffic collecting unit(210) collects traffic from a plurality of points of an Internet line. A traffic classifying unit(220) analyzes the collected traffic to classify them into traffic each having the same characteristics. A uni-directional traffic merging unit(240) merges forward traffic classified by the traffic classifying unit to generate forward merged traffic, and merges reverse traffic to generate reverse merged traffic. A bi-directional merging unit(250) merges again the forward merged traffic and the reverse merged traffic merged by the uni-directional merging unit to generate bi-directional merged traffic. The traffic characteristics include a key value and a reverse key value of traffic. A flow creation unit(260) creates a merging flow by using a merging traffic created in the uni-directional traffic merging unit and the bi-directional merging unit.

PURPOSE: A packet processing apparatus for discriminating duplicated response packets and a processing method thereof are provided to discriminate retransmitted packets and the duplicated response packets due to retransmission with minimum system resources. CONSTITUTION: A packet processing apparatus (1) comprises a session processing part (10), a packet discriminating part (12), a statistical information storing part (14), and a data storage (16). The session processing part sets and manages sessions. The statistical information storing part stores statistical information on packet retransmission. When the sessions are set by the session processing part, the packet discriminating part discriminates retransmitted packets and duplicated response packets using the statistical information.
