PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling an optical axis gap of a camera of a binocular stereoscopic image and a method thereof are provided to freely control an optical axis of a binocular stereoscopic image. CONSTITUTION: A stereoscopic image input unit(210) receives a binocular stereoscopic image from the outside. A hierarchical disparity map estimation unit(220) divides the inputted binocular stereoscopic image into several layers and searches corresponding points between the binocular stereoscopic images of the layers to generate a hierarchical disparity map. An OA area detecting and interpolating unit(230) detects an OA(Occlusion Area) area from the hierarchical disparity map and interpolates the detected OA area. An optical axis gap control image generator(240) generates a stereoscopic image of which an optical axis gap is controlled from the interpolated disparity map.

PURPOSE: A device for adjusting a depth of field of a stereo image for reducing visual fatigue and a method thereof are provided to reduce visual fatigue in watching stereo images. CONSTITUTION: A stereo image input unit(21) receives right and left stereo images photographed by a camera. A variance map generator(23) selects a reference image to execute depth of field filtering from the right and left stereo images, and calculates variance to a target image based on the selected reference image for generating a variance map of the reference image. An image filter(24) executes filtering to blur an area of the reference image deviated from the depth of field based on the variation map. An image output unit(25) synthesizes the filtered reference image with the unfiltered target image to output a three-dimensional image.

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for adjusting a depth of field of a stereo image is provided to reduce visual fatigue generated while watching a solid image. CONSTITUTION: According to the apparatus for adjusting a depth of field of a stereo image to reduce visual fatigue, an image input unit(21) receives a stereo left and right image photographed through a camera. A variation map generation unit(23) generates a variation map of a reference image by selecting the reference image to perform a depth of field filtering and then calculating mutation as to a target image. An image filtering unit(24) performs a filtering blurring an area out of the depth of field among the reference image based on the variation map. And an image output unit(25) synthesizes the reference image filtered through the image filtering unit and the target image which is not filtered as a three dimensional image.

PURPOSE: A method for fusing stereo image disparity map and a method for displaying 3D images by the same are provided to fuse two matching results by adaptively applying regulations according to pixel kind for obtaining precise disparity map. CONSTITUTION: A method for fusing stereo image disparity map includes the steps of initiating index for displaying a position in an image(301), checking whether a reference image pixel at the position displayed by the index is an edge image(302), carrying out edge pixel fusion if yes and moving to a next position to proceed to the second step(303,306), and carrying out non-edge pixel fusion in the other case and moving a next position to proceed to the second step(305,306).

PURPOSE: A vergence controller using signal processing and a parallel-axis stereo camera system using the vergence controller are provided to allow a parallel-axis stereo camera incapable of being vergence-controlled to obtain vergence control effect by signal-processing a captured image. CONSTITUTION: A vergence controller using signal processing includes a memory(211) for receiving and storing an image captured by an external camera, a horizontal signal processor(212) for receiving the stored image and performing horizontal signal processing for the image. The controller further includes a vertical signal processor(213) for receiving the horizontal-signal-processed signal to carry out vertical signal processing for the signal, and an interpolator(214) for interpolating the vertical-signal-processed signal into the original size to perform vergence control.

본발명은다시점영상생성장치및 방법에관한것이다. 본발명에따른장치는, 스테레오영상을촬영하는카메라, 상기스테레오영상의좌측영상및 우측영상으로부터특징점을검출하는영상처리부, 상기좌측영상및 상기우측영상사이에존재하는 N 개의시점중 n 번째시점을기준으로상기좌측영상및 상기우측영상중 거리상먼 방향의영상을 n 시점으로워핑하여 n 시점에대한기준영상을생성하는기준영상생성부, 및상기기준영상을이용하여 n 시점에대한워핑식을계산하고상기계산된워핑식을이용하여 n 시점에대한최종워핑영상을생성하는워핑영상생성부를포함한다.
