Abstract: PURPOSE: A porous media-type catalytic carrier structure of a catalytic converter for a vehicle is provided to prevent a catalytic carrier from damaging by transmitting the heat of the exhaust gas to an outer housing of the catalytic converter and restricting the high temperature of the catalytic carrier. CONSTITUTION: In a porous media-type catalytic carrier structure of a catalytic converter(10) for a vehicle, a catalytic carrier(20) is formed like a structure of yarns which are entangled integrally and made in a foam aluminum shape having a plurality of nonuniform air holes. The upper surface of a central portion of the catalytic carrier is rounded convexly more than the edge layer. The porous medial catalytic carrier increases the turbulence intensity of fluid and maximizes mixing properties in the catalytic carrier by increasing the flow of particles.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A structure for opening and closing a valve of a variable intake system is provided to prevent noise and breakage in operating the valve by modifying the structure of the valve. CONSTITUTION: A variable intake system comprises valve seats stepped and contacted to a valve(20) in closing the valve, a fitting groove containing the end of the valve in the valve seats in horizontally moving a rotating shaft(21) supporting the valve, a rotating unit(40) connected to the hinge shaft of the valve by a link(44) to open and close the valve hole by turning the valve, a parallel moving unit(50) connected to the hinge shaft of the valve by a rod(52) to assemble or disassemble the fitting unit of the valve from the fitting groove by moving the hinge shaft of the valve back and forth to the fitting groove, and an electronic control unit(60) sequentially operating the rotating unit and the parallel moving unit corresponding to the operational range of the engine.
