Abstract: PURPOSE: A structure for reinforcing crosswise stiffness of automobile is provided to reinforce crosswise stiffness of a vehicle without significantly increasing weight and man-hours to apply. CONSTITUTION: Both ends of a cross member(5) whose sectional area is closed are welded on both of side frames. The cross member is formed by a round pipe whose lower part is subsided toward an upper part thereof to form an arc closed sectional area and has a protrusion(5a) protruding downward on a center of a bottom thereof. Stiffness of the cross member is improved thereby so as not to need an additional torsion bar.
