Abstract: PURPOSE: A manufacturing method for a gear shift of a vehicle is provided to save the manufacturing cost by improving the work productivity. CONSTITUTION: The alloy steel material consisting of the inevitable impurity is used(S10). The alloy steel material comprises C: 0.17 ~ 0.23 weight%, Si: 0.5 ~ 0.7 weight%, Mn: 0.10 ~ 0.30 weight%, P: less than 0.025 weight%, S: less than 0.025 weight%, Cr: 0.85 ~ 1.25 weight%, Ti: 0.01 ~ 0.04 weight%, N: 0.01 ~ 0.02 weight%, B: 10 ~ 30ppm, and iron(Fe). The alloy steel material is cooling-processed to be a gear shape without an annealing process. The alloy steel material is processed under 930 ~ 980°C for 60 ~ 90 minute(S14). The alloy steel material is carburizing-processed in the low vacuum in order to enhance the surface hardness(S15).

Abstract: Boron steel for gear and a gear manufacturing method using the same are provided to reduce the manufacturing time period by omitting spheroidization and shortening normalizing time. A manufacturing method of boron steel for gear comprises a step of rolling and cutting a material, a step of forging the cut material, a step of normalizing the forged material at 970°C for 60 minutes, and a step of carburizing the normalized material. The material is composed of Fe as base material, C 0.17~0.23 weight%, Si 0.1 weight% or less, Mn 0.40~0.50 weight%, P 0.03 weight% or less, S 0.03 weight% or less, Cr 0.85~1.25 weight%, Ti 0.01~0.04 weight%, N 0.01~0.02 weight%, B 10~30ppm, and Nb 0.015~0.035 weight%. Si, ferrite reinforced element, is added to lower ferrite strength before heat treatment. Nb serves to make carburization at high temperature possible by preventing the coarsening of grain.
