    Abstract: The operating process is applied to a burner consisting of a vortex inducer (100) for a combustion air flow (115), a spray to spray fuel (116) into the combustion air flow, and a number of transfer channels (201) to take the flow from the vortex inducer to a downstream mixing tube (20). Easily igniting fuel is sprayed into the reaction zone to stabilize combustion in the combustion chamber.

    Abstract: The swirl chamber (39) is connected with an outer chamber by a nozzle hole (33) and has at least one inflow duct (41) for the liquid being atomised. The liquid is conveyed under pressure through the first inflow duct. The chamber contains at least one further inflow duct (38) for part of the liquid (37) being atomised or for a second liquid being atomised. Either or both liquids is/are conveyed under pressure and while swirling through the second inflow duct. The nozzle hole is in the cover (32) of a first pipe in which a smaller diameter second pipe (35) fits. The annular gap (36) between the pipes acts an inflow for a swirl stage. The second pipe is bounded by a filler piece (40)containing at least one tangential swirl duct. At least one inflow duct (41) acts as turbulence duct.

    Abstract: The pre-mix burner has a vortex stabilising cavity (20), formed from offset part bodies (11,12) fitting in each other, and a conical inner body (13). Input channels (11c,12c) extend upstream of the tangential air input slits (11a,12a) formed by the offset part bodies. Each input channel has at least one device (11d,12d) to cause turbulence in the air flow (23), and a system for introducing the fuel. The fuel should preferably be introduced downstream of the turbulence causing devices.

    Abstract: The fuel is introduced as a secondary current into a gaseous main current enclosed by an annular premixing duct (20) defined by an inner (21a) and outer (21b) cylinder wall. The main flow is guided by vortex generators (9,9a) which create a vortex leaving behind a residual vortex when the fuel has been completely mixed with the air of the fuel and air mixture. The annular main current duct of constant height (H) has a length (L), downstream from the vortex generators and fuel injector, which is between 5 and 20 times the height. The annular main flow duct widens into a circular main flow duct by closing the inner cylinder wall (21a).

    Abstract: The burner (100) consists basically of at least two hollow conical part bodies (101,102) movable relative to each other in the flow direction. The longitudinal axes of symmetry of these bodies are offset. Their adjacent walls form tangential air intake slits in the longitudinal direction to take combustion airflow (115) into the internal space (114) of the burner. The thorough flow cross-section of the tangential slits decreases in the flow direction of the burner, with a stabilising effect on the backflow zone (106) at the exit from the burner.

    Abstract: The process has two combustion stages. In the first stage, a fuel-air mixture (1) is burnt in an intensive mixing and recirculation zone (3), which stabilises the flame. In the second stage, fresh fuel-air mixture is added and further combustion takes place, in the exhaust gases of the first stage.Only a part (1a) of the fuel-air mixture is guided through the mixture zone of the first stage, and the remainder (1b) is added downstream to at least one further stage of combustion in the hot exhaust gases of the previous stage. Heat may also be extracted from the first stage mixing zone, and may be transmitted to that part of the fuel-air mixture which is guided past it to the second stage.
