Abstract: In the inventive method, shaped articles of a plasticized polyvinyl chloride resin are subjected to the surface treatment by with low temperature plasma so that the undesirable phenomenon of bleeding of the plasticizer on the surface can be effectively prevented when the plasticizer for plasticizing the resin is a compound having at least one aromatic nucleus in a molecule or a combination of two or more of plasticizers including 10% by weight or more of a plasticizer which is a compound having at least one aromatic nucleus in a molecule.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a terminal carbonyl group-containing polymer that has a narrow molecular weight distribution by polymerizing an olefin at a specified temperature using a catalyst which comprises a Hf- or Zr-containing compound and a phenyl group-containing borane compound or borane compound to produce a living polymer and reacting the living polymer with a carbonylating agent. SOLUTION: A 2-20C olefinic monomer is polymerized with the use of a catalyst which comprises a Hf- or Zr-containing compound having one or two cyclopentadienyl skeletons and a borane compound represented by B(Ph)3 (wherein Ph is phenyl which may be substituted) or a borate compound represented by B-(Ph)4X+ (wherein X+ is a cationic group) and in some cases, further comprises an aluminum compound at -20 to -100 deg.C in the case of the use of a Hf-containing compound or at -60 to -100 deg.C in the case of the use of a Zr-containing compound to produce a living polymer having a Mw/Mn of 1-1.3. Then, the living polymer is reacted with a carbonylating agent.

SOLUTION: This method for producing the subject compound comprises reacting the corresponding aromatic hydroxy compound or aliphatic hydroxy compound with carbon monoxide and oxygen in the presence of a catalyst composed of (a-1) a polynuclear metal complex compound containing a palladium atom and a group VIII transition metal atom other than palladium, (a-2) a polynuclear metal complex compound having plural palladium atoms as the metal center and crosslinked with hetero bidentate ligand or (a-3) a palladium complex compound having as ligand a bipyridyl-based compound with no hydrogen at the α-position carbon of the ring-membered nitrogen atoms, and (b) a redox catalyst.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject catalyst for polymerization comprising a cobalt complex with coordinated phosphine ligand, capable of polymerizing many kinds of monomers and having a high catalytic activity. SOLUTION: This catalyst for polymerization comprises a cobalt complex with three coordinated phosphine ligands, pref. a complex of the formula, CH3 C (CH2 PPh2 )3 CoH(BH3 ) and is suitable for obtaining a polar polymer through homopolymerization of acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile. The polar vinyl polymer is pref. obtained by polymerizing a polar vinyl monomer in a solventless state or in such an inert solvent as to be liquid while polymerization (e.g. opentane, hexane, etc.), at 0-80 deg.C for 0.5-100. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a butadiene polymer that has a high content of living chains, high cis-bond content, large molecular weight, narrow molecular weight distribution, extremely low content of branching structure, and to provide a production process for a conjugated diene polymer that can progress the living polymerization with high activity. SOLUTION: Relating to butadiene homopolymer, or copolymers of butadiene with copolymerizable monomers, cis linkage units amount to >=50% in the whole butadiene units, the number-average molecular weight (Mn) is 1,000-10,000,000 and the living chains bearing transition metal in group IV on the molecular chain terminals are contained in an amount of >=80% in the whole molecular chains. The objective diene polymer is prepared by polymerizing a conjugated diene monomer or a mixture thereof with other copolymerizable monomers at a temperature lower than 20 deg.C in the presence of a catalyst comprising (A) an organometallic compound of a transition metal in group VI in the periodic table bearing a cyclopentadienyl skeleton and (B) a cocatalyst selected from an organoaluminum oxy compound (a), or the like.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an organic solar cell having high energy conversion efficiency and small aging deteriorating by sequentially laminating an n-type semiconductor layer of cadmium sulfide, an intermediate layer of perylene dye, and a P-type semiconductor layer of quinacridon dye between two electrodes capable of transmitting a visible light in this order from the side of the electrode capable of transmitting the light. CONSTITUTION:After tin indium oxide is deposited, a transparent conductive glass board 2 is set in a vacuum vessel and evacuated, argon gas is introduced, an n-type semiconductor layer 3 of cadmium sulfide is formed by a high frequency sputtering method, perylene tetracarboxylate bisbenzoimidazole and 2,9-dimethylquiacridon are sequentially laminated on the cadmium sulfide thin film by a vacuum depositing method, and an intermediate layer 4 and a p-type semiconductor layer 5 are formed. Then, Au is deposited in vacuum to form an opposite electrode 6. An AM2 light of this solar cell is emitted from a transparent electrode side.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the elution of an org. substance, by forming a plasma polymerization layer to the inside surface of each of the piping between apparatuses and the piping up to an area using ultrapure water. CONSTITUTION:Primary pure water Wa supplied is subjected to sterilization treatment due to the irradiation of ultraviolet rays in an ultraviolet sterilizing apparatus 1 and introduced into an ion exchange apparatus 2 through piping 4A to remove the dissolved ion in the primary pure water Wa. The primary pure water Wa after the removal of the ion is introduced into an ultrafiltration apparatus 3 through piping 4B and fine particles contained in the primary pure water Wa are removed to obtain ultrapure water Wb which is, in turn, supplied to a use area through piping 4C. A plasma polymerization layer 6 comprising a monomer such as hydrocarbon, a nitrogen-containing compound and a fluorine- containing compound is formed to the piping main body of each of the pipings 4A-4C. By this method, ultrapure water is obtained.
