Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent splashing of a delivered residual liquid while improving a treating speed in the replacing of a nozzle chip of the analyzer for having an automatically dispensing function. SOLUTION: A pressure sensor 70 is provided to measure a pressure in a nozzle base part 52 into which is press-fitted a nozzle chip 54. A control part 80 controls the operation of pulling the nozzle chip 54 out of the nozzle base part 52, based on a pressure value to be outputted from the pressure sensor 70. The control part 80 detects that the pressure value begins to lower and switches the pulling out operation from a high speed to a low speed, which can prevent a sharp drop in the pressure within the nozzle chip 54 to block the fouling of the nozzle base part 52 as caused by the splashing of a delivered residual liquid. When detecting that the pressure value reaches an atmospheric pressure, the control part 80 judges that there is no risk of splashing to accelerate the pulling out operation. This allows a low speed operation only during a period when the risk of splashing remains possible and a high speed operation during the other periods thereby shortening the treating time.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time for moving up and down a nozzle, by setting a plurality of light-measuring devices which detect transmission light quantity characteristics arranged in the longitudinal direction of the nozzle as partial characteristics in accordance with an up-down movement of the nozzle, coupling the obtained partial characteristics and forming a transmission light quantity characteristic of the whole nozzle. SOLUTION: A nozzle 8 is lowered by a driving mechanism 18 to suck and dispense a predetermined amount of a sample 7 in a sample container 6 into a nozzle chip 10. The nozzle 8 is then pulled up. A partial characteristic obtained by a first light- measuring unit 20 is temporarily stored in a first partial characteristic memory 32. Similarly, a partial characteristic obtained by a second light-measuring unit 22 is temporarily stored in a partial characteristic memory 34. A characteristic-coupling part 36 couples the partial characteristics stored in the memories 32, 34 thereby forming a transmission light quantity characteristic covering the whole of a characteristic detection range. The formed transmission light quantity characteristic is sent to an operating part 38, and stored in a memory part 40 if it is necessary. The operating part 38 compares two transmission light quantity characteristics before and after the sample 7 is sucked, thereby operating a suction amount.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately calculate a suction amount and discharge amount by directly monitoring liquid level in a nozzle. SOLUTION: A nozzle 10 has a nozzle base 12 and a nozzle tip 14. An ultrasonic sensor 18 is provided at the base 12. The liquid level of sample in liquid is detected by the sensor 18. Since the ultrasonic wave is transmitted and received in the nozzle 10, the convergence of the ultrasonic wave can be enhanced, and external noise can be shut off. The suction amount and, discharge amount can be calculated, liquid leakage can be discriminated and suction failure is discriminated based on the level detected result.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect blood samples of a fixed quantity by repeatedly performing pressure reduction and opening to the air on an airtight space formed below a container placed on the outlet side of a sample collecting needle and setting the pressure reducing time within a range in which the collected amount of blood becomes proportional to time from the suction starting time, and then, setting the opening time at the period until the internal pressure of the space returns to the atmospheric pressure after space is opened to the air. SOLUTION: When a blood-collecting tube 16 is inserted into a coupler 14 from the above and continuously pressed down, the coupler 12 tightly comes into contact with a sampling container 18 and an airtight space is formed below a blood-collecting needle. A suction pump 46 reduces the internal pressure of the space and an open valve 42 opens the space to the air. A control section 50 controls the pump 46 and valve 42 and is provided with a timer A which controls the pressure reducing time and the airtight space opening time and another timer B which controls the elapsed time from the sampling starting time. Therefore, samples of a fixed quantity are collected by repeating basic steps of pressure reduction and opening to the air on the space by setting the pressure reducing time within a range within which the collected amount of blood becomes proportional to the elapsed time from the suction starting time and the airtight space opening time to the period from the opening time to the time at which the internal pressure of the space returns to the atmospheric pressure.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a sampling apparatus by which a blood sample in the interior of a blood sampling tube is sampled efficiently and safely without removing a sealing stopper from the blood sampling tube. CONSTITUTION: A coupler 12 is mounted on a coupler base 10, and a blood sampling tube 14 after a centrifugal separation treatment is inserted into the coupler 12 in an inverted state. Thereby, a blood sampling needle 26 is pierced through a rubber stopper 22. A packing 40 is used to seal a part between the coupler base 10 and a sampling container 24 and to seal a part between the coupler 12 and the coupler base 10. When the air in the interior of the sampling container 24 is sucked, an air passage 36 functions as a ventilation passage, and a serum 20 is taken into the sampling container 24 via a sample passage 34. While the interior of the blood sampling tube 14 is being maintained always under atmospheric pressure or lower, the serum 20 is sampled.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To detect the abnormality of suction and discharge of specimen with high sensitivity, not depending on the viscosities of the specimen. CONSTITUTION: An automatic dispensing device for the suction and discharge of specimen 2 through a nozzle 4 has a pressure detector 8 to detect air pressure during suction and discharge of the specimen 2. A primary differential operation circuit 18 performs differential operation on waveforms output from the pressure detector 8 and a secondary differential operation circuit 20 performs differential operation on the result of the primary differential operation. A judgment circuit 24 compares the result of the secondary differential operation with two types of threshold values to judge abnormality. The result of the secondary differential operation shows the variation of the change rate of air pressure to allow accurate separate filling of the specimen with different viscosities, hardly depending on the viscosities of the specimen 2 as shown in the result of the primary differential operation. Since the inflection point of the air pressure change rate is accurately detected, judgement can be made with extremely high sensitivity.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a method for detecting a droplet wherein whether or not a droplet generated at the tip of a nozzle at dispensing time exists, and it dispenser. CONSTITUTION:A dispenser forms a light beam 20 by a near infrared light emitting diode 14, a lens 16 for converting the emitted near infrared light into a parallel light beam, and a cylindrical lens 18 for narrowing the parallel beam into a size in an axial direction of a chip 36, wherein the light beam 20 has an axis of the chip 36 and a beam width larger than a vertical width. Therefore if a droplet is generated from the tip of the chip 36, the droplet and the beam 20 cross each other. If a droplet detection circuit 26 receives a transmitted light amount at the time of movement of the chip 36 via an optical filter 22 at a light receiving part and a light detector 24 and senses a rapid change in the transmitted light amount level, it outputs a signal indicating 'generation of droplets' to a monitor 28 and issues a warning to a user by displaying a message indicating the generation of droplets.
