Abstract: A method is performed at an electronic device with a display, a touch-sensitive surface, and one or more sensors to detect intensity of contacts. The method includes displaying, on the display, a user interface for an application; detecting an edge input that includes detecting a change in a characteristic intensity of a contact proximate to an edge of the touch-sensitive surface; and, in response to detecting the edge input: in accordance with a determination that the edge input meets system-gesture criteria, performing an operation that is independent of the application, wherein: the system-gesture criteria include intensity criteria; the system gesture criteria include a location criterion that is met when the intensity criteria for the contact are met while the contact is within a first region relative to the touch-sensitive surface; and the first region relative to the touch-sensitive surface is determined based on one or more characteristics of the contact.

Abstract: An electronic device with a display and a fingerprint sensor displays a fingerprint enrollment interface and detects, on the fingerprint sensor, a plurality of finger gestures performed with a finger. The device collects fingerprint information from the plurality of finger gestures performed with the finger. After collecting the fingerprint information, the device determines whether the collected fingerprint information is sufficient to enroll a fingerprint of the finger. When the collected fingerprint information for the finger is sufficient to enroll the fingerprint of the finger, the device enrolls the fingerprint of the finger with the device.

Abstract: A computer system has a plurality of notifications in a notification history, including a first notification of a first event of a first event type and a second notification of a second event of the first event type. The first notification and the second notification are coalesced in the notification history. In response to detecting an additional event of the first event type, a third notification is created for the additional event. After creating the third notification, in response to a request to display a wake screen, the wake screen is displayed with the third notification. The third notification is displayed without information about the first notification and the second notification. After the third notification has been displayed, in response to a request to display the notification history, the notification history is displayed with a coalesced representation of the first notification and the second notification.
