Abstract: A thermoplastic molding material which contains, in each case based on the molding material comprising A+B, A. from 50 to 95% by weight of a rigid matrix composed of, (a1) styrene and (a2) acrylonitrile, B. from 50 to 5% by weight of a nonrigid phase which is uniformly dispersed in the rigid matrix and which comprises a graft copolymer of the monomers (a1) and (a2) and a styrene-butadiene block copolymer, wherein the styrene-butadiene block copolymer has a styrene content of from 50 to 95% by weight and a butadiene content of from 50 to 5% by weight, each based on the block polymer, and has a molecular weight (weight average) within the range from 50,000 to 300,000, is used for producing moldings.

Abstract: The invention relates to thermoplastic moulding compositions based on impact-modified styrene polymers with a total polybutadiene content of from 4 to 12 % by weight and polyphenylene ethers, where the particles of the soft phase of the impact-modified styrene polymer have a mean particle diameter in the range from 0.01 to 0.05 mu m and have a drop shape. The soft phase is preferably prepared by free-radical polymerization of the styrene in the presence of a mixture of a) homopolybutadiene and b) a linear styrene-butadiene two-block copolymer containing from 10 to 60 % by weight of copolymerized butadiene, where the proportion of homopolybutadiene compared with the total polybutadiene content of the impact-modified styrene polymer is from 10 to 50 % by weight. e
