Abstract: New water-soluble disazo dyes have formula: (in which A is the gp. of a coupling component; R is H, Cl, Br, Me et, OME or OEt; X is COOH or SO3H, the molecule contg. >=2 SO3H gps.). Used for dyeing or printing of natural and synthetic polyamides, leather and paper, in yellow to blue shades. Good light and wet fastness are obtd. Pref. A is a gp. of the pyrazolone, pyridone or naphthalene series. In an example, 1,1-bis(4-amino-3-sulphophenyl)cyclohexane is tetrazotised and couplied with 7-amino-1-naphthol 3-sulphonic acid to give a bluish-red dye.

Abstract: The new dyes are of formula (I): In the formula A is the gp. of a coupling component. R' is H, Cl, Br, Me, Et, OH, OMe, OEt, CN or NO2. R2 is H, Cl, br, Me, Et, OMe or OEt. X is H, COOH or SO3H. B is a gp. of formula: R3 is H, Cl, Br, Me or OMe. n = 1 or 2. R is H or up to 2 Me substits. The dye contains at least one SO3H gp. In an example, 1,4-bis(4-aminophenyl sulphonylamino) benzene 2-sulphonic acid is tetrazotised and coupled with 7-amino 1-naphthol 3-sulphonic acid. After pptn. with NaCl, a dark violet powder is obtained, which dyes leather, wool and polyamide-6 in dark red shades.

Abstract: Disperse dyes of the formula in which D is the radical of a diazo component, Y is a linear or branched, unsubstituted or substituted alkylene of one to four carbon atoms; R1 is hydrogen, optionally substituted linear or branched alkyl of one to four carbon atoms, optionally substituted cycloalkyl or aralkyl, phenyl, or a radical of the formula: and R2 is hydrogen or C1 to C6 alkyl which may bear chloro, bromo or cyano as a substituent; and D and the rings A and B may bear one or more further substituents other than -SO3H and -COOH; and also to their productions and their use for dyeing water-repellent fibrous materials. The dyes are eminently suitable for dyeing hydrophobic fibers, particularly polyesters, in yellow to blue-green shades of excellent fastness properties.

Abstract: Novel dyes of the formula where A is cyano, carbo-C1-C4-alkoxy, carbamyl, N-C1-C4-alkylcarbamyl, N-phenylcarbamyl, acetyl, benzoyl, 4-nitrophenyl or 4-cyanophenyl, X is hydrogen, chlorine, C1-C4-alkyl or C1-C4-alkoxy, and if n is 2 the substituents may be identical or different, n is 1 or 2, R1 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl or 2-hydroxyethyl and R2 is phenyl or cyclohexyl, or R1 is hydrogen and R2 is C1-C4-alkyl, or R1 and R2 are C1-C6-alkyl, allyl or phenyl-C1-C4-alkyl or the group is a saturated heterocyclic five-membered or six-membered ring which may additionally contain an oxygen or a further nitrogen as ring members, Y is hydrogen, hydroxyl, methyl or ethyl; where R3 is linear or branched C1-C12-alkyl, or is phenyl; where R4 is hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl and R5 is hydrogen, linear or branched C1-C12-alkyl or trifluoromethyl; chloromethyl; C1-C4-alkoxymethyl, phenoxymethyl, benzyl, phenylethyl, C3-C7-cycloalkyl, phenyl, H5C6-CH=CH- or -CH2-PO(OR6)2, where R6 is C1-C4-alkyl; or where R7 is C1-C12-alkyl, phenyl or C1-C12-alkylphenyl; or Y is N-C1-C4-alkylamino if R1 and R2 are C1-C4-alkyl, or Y is N,N-di-C1-C4-alkylamino, N-pyrrolidinyl, N-piperidinyl or N-morpholinyl if has the same meaning, and Z is hydrogen or, if R1 and R2 are C1-C4-alkyl or allyl and Y is Z is hydrogen, methoxy or ethoxy, and alkyl, phenyl, phenoxy and phenylthio may contain additional substituents. The dyes give blue to violet hues on synthetics, in particular on linear polyester fibers. Where Z is methoxy or ethoxy, greenish blue dyeings are obtained. The dyeings are very deep, clear and brilliant. Some of the dyes may also be used for the mass coloring of thermoplastics.
