    Abstract: Isoalkane mixture exhibits 1>H-NMR-spectrum with a chemical shift (delta ) of 0.6-1 ppm, related to tetramethylsilane, and a surface integral of 25-70%, related to the total integral surface. Independent claims are included for: (1) Preparation of the mixture; (2) Cosmetic or pharmaceutical compositions comprising the mixture; (3) The preparation of the composition comprising oligomerizing a butane and 4C hydrocarbon in presence of nickel containing catalyst, separating 16C olefin fractions from the reaction mixture and hydrogenating the 16C olefin fractions; and (4) A hair-cosmetic composition comprising 0.05-20 wt.% of at least one hair polymer, 20-99.95 wt.% of a carrier containing the mixture, 0-50 wt.% of at least one propulsion gas, 0-5 wt.% of at least one emulsifying agent, 0-3 wt.% of at least one thickener, and 25 wt.% of further components.

    Abstract: The invention describes polyisobutenyl derivatives of succinic acid obtainable by: i) reacting a polyisobutene which has a reactive end group content of at least 80% and whose molecular weight distribution is characterized by a maximum M P in the distribution curve in the range from 500 to 20 000 daltons and a ratio of weight average molecular weight to number average molecular weight M W /M N of below 1.4 with maleic acid or maleic anhydride; ii) reacting the polyisobutene-succinic acid derivative obtained in i) with at least one compound I which has at least one primary or secondary amino group and/or an OH group to form an amide or ester bond, and also a process for preparing them and their use as additives in lubricant compositions.

    Abstract: Linear or star block copolymers which have at least one polymer block A which is essentially composed of isobutene units and at least two polymer blocks B which are essentially composed of units which are derived from vinylaromatic monomers are used as resilient sealing material. In particular, such sealing materials are used for sealing the edge joints in insulation glass panes, and insulation glass panes have a flexible edge joint seal which contains one of the block copolymers.
