Abstract: The invention relates to a method for reducing the emission of formaldehyde in wood materials by applying nitrogen-containing compounds. Said method is characterized in that (i) a mixture containing at least one polyamine and optionally up to 20 percent by weight of urea relative to the mixture is applied to the wood material; (ii) polyamine is applied onto or into the chip cake or fiber cake; (iii) polyamine is applied to the coating substrate used for finishing the surface; and/or (iv) polyamine is applied to the exposed points. The polyamines have a minimum molecular weight of 500 g/mol while being provided with at least 6 primary or secondary amino groups.

Abstract: The multi-layered lignocellulosic molded bodies comprise middle layer containing lignocellulosic particles and obtained through the use of binder (a), and two cover layers containing lignocellulosic particles and obtained through the use of binder (b). The binder (a) is formaldehyde resins (a1) and an organic isocyanate (a2) with two isocyanate groups. The binder (b) contains aqueous component (I) comprising polymer (A) constructed of monomers (A1) having 70-100 wt.% of ethylenically unsaturated mono- and/or dicarboxylic acids and 0-30 wt.% of other ethylenically unsaturated monomers (A2). The multi-layered lignocellulosic molded bodies comprise a middle layer containing lignocellulosic particles and obtained through the use of a binder (a), and two cover layers containing lignocellulosic particles and obtained through the use of a binder (b). The binder (a) is formaldehyde resins (a1) and an organic isocyanate (a2) with two isocyanate groups. The binder (b) contains an aqueous component (I) comprising a polymer (A) constructed of monomers (A1) having 70-100 wt.% of ethylenically unsaturated mono- and/or dicarboxylic acids and 0-30 wt.% of other ethylenically unsaturated monomers (A2) that differ from the monomers (A1), and optionally a low molecular weight cross-linking agent comprising two functional groups of hydroxy, carboxylic acid and its derivatives, primary, secondary and tertiary amine, epoxy and aldehyde, and optionally a component (II) as an aqueous dispersion comprising polymers (M) constructed from the monomers having 0-50 wt.% of ethylenically unsaturated monomer (M1) containing an epoxide group and/or hydroxyalkyl group, and 50-100 wt.% of other ethylenically unsaturated monomer (M2) that differs from the first monomer (M1), and optionally conventional additives as component (III), where the binder (b) contains formaldehyde traps and formaldehyde resin. The binder (b) consists of low molecular cross-linker as the component (II). The binder (a) consists of 70-99.9 wt.% of component (a1) and 0.1-30 wt.% of component (a2) related to the total (a1) and (a2) of the pure undiluted substances. The molded bodies are formed in the form of plate. An independent claim is included for a method for the production of multi-layered lignocellulosic molded bodies.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a multilayer lignocellulose-containing molding comprising: a middle layer or a plurality of middle layers comprising lignocellulose containing particles obtained by using a binder (a) and a covering layer or a plurality of covering layers comprising lignocellulose containing particles obtained by using a binder (b), the binder (a) being selected from the group consisting of (a1) formaldehyde resins and/or (a2) an organic isocyanate having at least two isocyanate groups; the binder (b) comprising the following components: an aqueous component (I) comprising a polymer A which is composed of the following monomers: a) from 70 to 100% by weight of at least one ethylenically unsaturated mono- and/or dicarboxylic acid (monomer(s) A1) and b) from 0 to 30% by weight of at least one further ethylenically unsaturated monomer which differs from the monomers A1 (monomer(s) A2) and, optionally, a low molecular weight crosslinker having at least two functional groups which are selected from the group consisting of hydroxyl, carboxyl and derivatives thereof, primary, secondary and tertiary amine, epoxy and aldehyde and, optionally, a component (II) as an aqueous dispersion, comprising one or more polymer(s) M which is composed of the following monomers: from 0 to 50% by weight of at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer which comprises at least one epoxide and/or at least one hydroxyalkyl group (monomer(s) M1) and from 50 to 100% by weight of at least one further ethylenically unsaturated monomer which differs from the monomers M1 (monomer(s) M2) and, optionally, customary additives as component (III), and, where the binder (a) comprises a formaldehyde resin, the binder (b) comprising formaldehyde scavengers.
