    Abstract: A method producing a low-density flexible polyurethane foam comprising stirring a starting mixture containing a polyhydroxy compound, a polyisocyanate, a foaming agent and a catalyst to thereby foam the mixture, in which a foaming agent selected from the group consisting of water, formic acid and its salts is used in an amount of at least 10% by weight as water equivalent per 100 parts by weight of the polyhydroxy compound, and the mixture is stirred at 15 DEG C. or below by previously adjusting the temperature of the mixture to 15 DEG C. or below and under a highly catalytic activity.

    Abstract: The present invention is a manufacturing method of a rigid or semi-rigid foamed material which comprises a foaming process to make a practically thermoplastic foamed material wherein isocyanate component is reacted with polyol component in the presence of organic foaming agent and/or water in a condition that an excess quantity of the isocyanate component than the stoichiometric equivalent to the polyol component and water is used in the reaction and a successive cure molding process wherein the said practically thermoplastic foamed material is contacted with water or steam to react the isocyanate component remaining therein with water while heating. The foamed material obtained by the first foaming process is not reached to the final curing of the remaining isocyanate and rigid or semi-rigid at room temperature, but it is softened by heating enable to be used for deep draw molding in the successive cure molding process without crack, split, or demolition. Then, it is contacted with water or steam in the final cure molding process, to react the isocyanate component remaining therein with water to proceed to final curing, thus becomes a rigid or semi-rigid foamed material without softening by heating. The intermediate practically thermoplastic foamed material can be laminated with facing materials or reinforced with glass fiber non-woven cloth etc. to give a composite panel with excellent properties such as light weight, stiffness, heat insulation, acoustic insulation and moisture resistance suitable for a molded ceiling or a door panel etc. for automobile use and a partition or a screen for interior use.

    Abstract: A process for producing asphalt-blended polyurethane foams which comprises introducing starting foaming materials for polyurethane foams containing a polyoxyalkylene polyol and an organic isocyanate either as respective individual ingredients or as a prepolymer into an agitation mixing chamber of a foaming apparatus, while introducing a previously heated and melted asphalt into the agitation mixing chamber of the foaming apparatus, mixing the starting foaming material for the polyurethane foams and the heated and melted asphalt and then foaming them. Asphalt-blended polyurethane foams can be obtained simply and efficiently and they are excellent in general physical properties, sound/vibration characteristics and are suitable as sealing materials and sound-proofing or vibration-damping materials.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a synthetic resin compsn. excellent in heat resistance by compounding a polyamide resin with an inorg. filler surface-treated with a silane-coupling agent represented by a specific formula. SOLUTION: A surface-treated inorg. filler is obtd. by feeding 100 pts.wt. at least one inorg. filler selected from among glass fibers, a ferrite powder, etc., into a rotating-blade mixer, then feeding a methanol-water mixture contg. 0.1-0.5 pt.wt. silane-coupling agent represented by formula I or II (wherein R1 to R3 are each lower alkoxy or lower alkyl; and R4 is 1-20C alkylacyl or alkylaminoacyl) into the mixer, rotating the mixer for a specified time, and thermally drying the resultant product in an oven to remove the solvent. The treated inorg. filler and a polyamide resin (e.g., 6-nylon) are homogeneously mixed in a wt. ratio of about (90-5)/(10-95) and melt kneaded at about 250-300 deg.C to give a synthetic resin compsn.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To contrive improvement in strength characteristics and uniformity of magnetic force by a method wherein the mixed powder consisting of anisotropic-treated magnetic material powder and inorganic substance pulverized material, and thermoplastic resin are contained in the title composition at a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:One hundred pts.wt. of the title composition contains a 60-95 pts.wt. powdery mixture, which is composed of 30-99wt.% anisotropically treated magnetic powder and 70-1wt.% pulverized inorganic substance, and 40-5 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin. When the composition for synthetic resin is manufactured, thermoplastic resin is normally blended after the magnetic powder has been surface-treated, and as the surface-treated agent for magnetic powder, a silane coupling agent, a titanium coupling agent, an aluminum coupling agent and the like of aminosilane type and ureidosilane type are used. As a result, the improvement in the strength characteristics such as impact strength, bending strength and the like, and the uniformity in magnetic force can be achieved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare a modified polyol which does not precipitate particles and is useful for preparing a high load-bearing flexible polyurethane foam, by reacting an epoxy resin with a polyamine or a dialkanolamine in a polyether polyol and reacting the reaction product with a polyisocyanate. CONSTITUTION:An epoxy resin (e.g., diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A) is reacted with a polyamine (e.g., ethylenediamine) or a dialkanolamine in a polyether polyol having, pref., 2-6 hydroxyl groups and an average MW of 1000-10000 (e.g., ehtylene oxide-propylene oxide adduct of glycerol), and the reaction product is reacted with a polyisocyanate (e.g., tolylene diisocyanate) to give a modified polyol comprising the polyether polyol combined with the above reaction product.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a foamed laminated body which is low in thermal conductivity, superior in heat resistance, high in fire resistance and moreover favorable in adhesion to various face materials and a concrete body, by foaming a hard urethane foam and phenolic foam integrally. CONSTITUTION:A kind of a hard urethane foam 1 is not limited especially and the hard urethane foam 1 to be obtained from ordinary hard urethane foam raw materials such as a polyol compound, isocyanate compound and further a catalyst, foaming agent, foam stabilizer and flame retarder can be used. Although it is not limited always, low-molecular-weight resol type phenolic resin whose number-average molecular weight is less than 200 and high- molecular-weight resol type phenolic resin whose number-average molecular weight is at least 200 are used as resol type phenolic resin by mixing them with each other at the rate of 5/95-80/20 at a weight ratio as a phenolic foam 2. Since the resol type phenolic foam 2 to be obtained by manufacturing the title laminated body by making use of the foam raw materials with which the foaming agent and curing agent are compounded has short foaming and curing time and excellent adhesion, the phenolic foam 2 can be used properly.
