Abstract: PURPOSE:To omit the useless waiting time, to reduce the power consumption, and to improve the availability and the facilitation of a broadcast receiving device by storing the broadcast time of programs and transmitting the information to show that time selected program is excluded out of the relevant broadcast time. CONSTITUTION:When a power supply is applied or the programs are switched, a CPU 11 reads the data on the corresponding channel and program out of a memory 12 and also controls a tuner 3 and a microprocessor 5 for selection of channels. Then the CPU 11 reads the time data on the corresponding selected program out of the memory 12 and then outputs and displays the information showing a fact that the current time is excluded out of its broadcast time at present on an LCD 23. Then the CPU 11 cuts off the power supply and finishes the due processing as long as no other broadcast program is not registered in the same item. Thus it is possible to avoid the continuous reception of a long period of time in 8 data waiting state, to reduce the power consumption and to improve the availability end the facilitation of 8 broadcast receiving device.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the utility of a reservation function by selecting a reserved channel only when a current time at application of power is within the prescribed station selection range of a reserved time. CONSTITUTION:At application of power (step S1), a reserved time registered in a memory is read (step S2) to check whether or not a current time is within the prescribed channel selection enable range of the reserved time (step S3). When the current time is within the prescribed channel selection enable range of the reserved time, a succeeding reserved time is read to check similarly whether or not a current time is within the prescribed channel selection enable range of the reserved time is checked (steps S4, S5), and when the reserved time within the prescribed channel selection enable range of the reserved time is detected, a channel registered corresponding to the reserved time is selected and outputted (step S6).

Abstract: PURPOSE:To select a selection program pair whose reception state is excellent with high priority and to improve the channel selection operation by selecting the channel selection program pair registered with priority sequentially in response to the reception state. CONSTITUTION:When an item of channel selection object is selected (step S2), a channel selection program pair comprising a channel and a program registered in a memory corresponding to the selecting item in advance with priority is read from the memory (step S3) to check the reception state of the channel selection program pair (step S4). When the reception state is wrong, the priority is decreased by one rank (steps S5, S6), and the channel selection program pair with a succeeding higher priority (step S3). When the channel selection program pair with an excellent reception state is implemented, the channel selection program pair is outputted (step S7) and when the channel selection program pair with excellent reception state cannot be selected from the registered channel selection program pair, a message representing it is outputted and the processing is terminated.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable route guide device and a route input method, capable of easily inputting and setting a detailed route to a destination and guiding along a set route. SOLUTION: This portable route guide device 100 (100') is provided with a secondary input part having a ball-shaped rotating body 1' as shown in Figs. a, b. The second input part detects the rotating direction and distance of the rotating body 1' moving longitudinally and laterally, while being rotated by energization, and feeds detection signals to a CPU. A user traces a forward route from a start point (or current position) to a destination on a map (atlas) with the rotating body 1' after determining a scale, so as to detect the distance and bearing of a guide route forming all routes to the destination, calculates a distance between nodes and a bearing thereof and stores them in a route table, displays the set route, and based on the GPS data received by a GPG receiver in a route guide mode, calculates the current position and displays the position as an conduction guide on a screen together with the route.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving apparatus which has a ease of use and can be made compact. SOLUTION: Almanac information of GPS satellites is stored in a satellite data ROM 6. At a use start point, the information is transmitted to an SRAM 7, and an operation of taking almanac data is discontinued. When data in the satellite data ROM 6 becomes invalid, a flag indicating the fact is written to a flag area 12b of an EEPROM 12 to stop the use. At the same time, fresh almanac information is taken by a GPS part 3 and stored in a satellite data memory area 12a of the EEPROM 12. The data is used thereafter. A secondary power source necessary for holding the almanac information is thus eliminated. After the receive operation by the GPS part 3 ends, electricity is supplied from a main power source to the SRAM 7 for only a predetermined time while an ephemeris is effective, and the power source is shut afterwards.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a system tonometer by which a blood pressure can accurately and easily be measured by a pulse wave propagating method on the basis of the newest and proper blood pressure data. CONSTITUTION:A system tonometer 1 is constructed in the following manner. A blood pressure is measured by a blood pressure measuring apparatus 2 of a direct measuring method. Simultaneously, a tonometer 4 of an electronic-watch type measures electrocardiographic waves, the pulse, and time when those are measured by an electrocardiographic wave detection electrode 47 and an optical device section 45. The tonometer 4 stores the transferred blood pressure data into an RAM by relating with the simultaneously detected electrocardiographic waves and pulse data. In this instance, when a transfer time is after the elapse of more than a predetermined time from the measurement time, the reception of the blood pressure data is stopped. The tonometer 4 calculates a blood pressure value from the detected electrocardiographic wave and pulse and the blood pressure data stored in the RAM and displays on a display 42.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the instantaneousness of information by storing received data in a memory for each page, instantly reading and printing out the received data on a designated page when the page is designated in manual mode so as to quickly make the received data on the required page available to a user. CONSTITUTION:Under the control of a CPU 11, a broadcasting radio wave is received by a tuner 3, demodulated and detected by a VIF 4, processed by a microprocessor 5 and the received data are stored in a memory 12 for each page. By setting to the manual mode and designating the page through a keyboard 13, when the memory 12 is retrieved and the designated page was stored, the designated page is quickly read out and displayed on an LCD 23. When the designated page was not stored in the memory 12, the receiving of the designated page is waited and then displayed and outputted. When a new page is designated, it is stored in the memory 12, but when the memory is full, the data are overwritten or cut off upon selection. Thus, the instantaneousness of the information can be improved.
