Abstract:
An antiperspirant /deodorant liquid composition comprising a solvent, an antiperspirant and/or deodorant ingredient, a fragrance, and an alkylated polyvinylpyrrolidone, wherein the alkylated polyvinylpyrrolidone is soluble or dispersible in the composition. The alkylated polyvinylpyrrolidone is capable of forming a film when the solvent is allowed to evaporate such that the film limits the release of the fragrance. Fragrance is released when the film is exposed to perspiration. The alkylated polyvinylpyrrolidone overcomes the problem with other film forming polymers that do not form stable films in the presence of an antiperspirant and/or deodorant ingredient.
Abstract:
A composition comprising a) a surfactant comprising an anionic surfactant; b) at least 8 weight % of the composition of a C12-18 fatty alcohol, and c) water. A cleansing method includes applying the composition to skin or hair and washing, and optionally rinsing with water.
Abstract:
A composition in which the volatile silicone is partially or fully replaced by a plant oil. The plant oil containing composition is parity or better than the volatile silicone containing material but at lower cost. One example comprises a mixing product of at least one material chosen from antiperspirant actives and deodorant actives; greater than 10 weight% of a plant oil; and less than 40 weight% of a volatile silicone oil. Another examples comprises a mixing product of greater than 10 weight% of a plant oil; a gellant for the composition; and less than 40 weight% of a volatile silicone oil, wherein the composition does not contain an antiperspirant active or deodorant active.
Abstract:
A composition that h gelled with a high level of fatty acid. A composition comprising at least one active chosen from an antiperspirant active e and a deodorant active: a fatty acid in an amount of greater than 7 weight%; and a plant oil in an amount of at least 12 weight%. A composition comprising greater than 7 weight% of a fatty acid; and at least 12 weight% of a plant oil, wherein the composition does not contain an antiperspirant active or a deodorant active.
Abstract:
A method for forming micronized antiperspirant salts is disclosed wherein the method comprises the steps of: (1) forming an aqueous salt solution of a parent salt wherein the solution has a glycol content of less than 5 weight %; (2) pouring the salt solution onto a bounded flat surface; (3) evaporating the solvent from the salt solution so as to form a glass; (4) breaking up the glass using one or more steps to form particles having an average size in the range of 0.5-2.00 cm 2 ; (5) mixing the particles from step (4) with a non-aqueous liquid vehicle in which the salt is not appreciably soluble and subjecting the mixture to an intermediate grinding process to form a suspension with particles having an average size of less than 200 microns; and (6) grinding the mixture from step (5) at a temperature in the range of 20-70 degrees C. without added water or external heating being required so that the particles in the suspension have an average particle size of less than or equal to 20 microns.
Abstract:
Antiperspirant and/or deodorant compositions are disclosed that exhibit low white residue on both skin and fabric and which are formed by combining selected silicone polyamides with a selected co-gellant and an antiperspirant active having a high bulk density. The compositions may be formed as sticks, creams or roll-ons with good aesthetics.

Abstract:
A composition comprising at least one active chosen from at least one antiperspirant active and at least one deodorant active; a first gellant chosen from at least one fatty alcohol and at least one hydrocarbon of the formula CnH2n+2, wherein n is about 20 to about 100, and the hydrocarbon is at least 90% linear; at least one soybean oil having an iodine value of greater than 0 to about 20; and at least one silicone.
Abstract:
A dual phase stick antiperspirant and/or deodorant product comprising a non-gelled opaque inner core as 20-70 weight % of the total composition and a clear outer shell as 30-80 weight % of the total composition wherein: (a) based on the weight of the inner core as 100%, the composition of the inner core comprises: (i) 20-70 weight % of an antiperspirant active powder, provided that the total amount of antiperspirant active in the total product does not exceed 25 weight %; (ii) 0.1-20 weight % of a filler; (iii) 2-20 weight % of a binder; (iv) 1-20 weight % of an emollient; (b) based on the weight of the outer shell as 100%, the clear outer shell is formed around the inner core and comprises: (i) 7-15 weight % of a selected siliconized polyamide of Formula IIIA as described; (ii) 8-80 weight % of a silicone component comprising at least 8-30 weight % of a volatile silicone; (iii) 10-70 weight % of a non-silicone organic material; (iv) optionally a co-gellant selected from the described group; wherein the outer gelled shell comprises the polyamide in combination with the silicone and non-silicone organic materials so that the ratio of the non-silicone organic materials to the organosilicone materials is in the range of 10:1-0.01:1.
