    Abstract: Crystalline type-A zeolite powder having an average particle diameter of 7 to 8.5 .mu.m is produced by passing the components sodium tetrasilicate and alkali-metal aluminate liquor under defined conditions simultaneously into a reactor containing water, followed by stirring, whereupon further alkali metal aluminate liquor is added first and further sodium tetrasilicate solution is added thereafter. The zeolite powder thus obtained can be used as a phosphate substitute in detergents.

    Abstract: Crystalline type-A zeolite powder is used as a phosphate substitute in detergents. For this purpose it is advantageous that the crystalline type-A zeolite powder has a defined average particle diameter of 4.3 to 8.5 .mu.m and a defined narrow particle size distribution. These requirements of the product are satisfied by a specific sequence in the addition of the reactants in the precipitation of the zeolite A. Sodium-aluminate liquor and sodium-tetrasilicate solution are added simultaneously to the water in a reactor and after a lengthy stirring phase further sodium-aluminate liquor and further sodium-tetrasilicate solution are added. The maximum grit content of the type-A zeolite powder obtained is 0.2%.

    Abstract: A crystalline type-A zeolite powder, which can be used as a phosphate substitute in detergents, is produced by precipitation reaction in that in a defined sequence sodium-tetrasilicate solution and sodium-aluminate liquor are simultaneously passed to a reactor containing water, whereupon sodium-tetrasilicate solution is added first and sodium-aluminate liquor thereafter. The crystalline product has an average particle size of 6.7 to 8 .mu.m and a narrow particle size distribution curve.
