Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an electrode substrate provided with screen, the height accuracy of which is sufficient, and the structural strength of which is also sufficient. CONSTITUTION:A sand blast resisting layer 2 of fixed pattern is formed on a substrate 1. Sand blasting is carried out, and the part other than the sand blast resisting layer 2 is cut, and a screen 5 is thus formed. A mask material 6 is coated on the entire uneven surface of the substrate 1. Sand blasting is carried out, and the mask material 6 is left only on the side surface of the screen 5. A thin film conductor 7 is formed between the screens 5 and 5, while the anti-sand blast layer 2 and the mask material 6 on the screen 5 are removed. A phosphor 8 is coated on the thin film conductor 7, and a positive electrode 9 is thus formed. Since the screen 5 is directly cut out of the substrate 1, the height accuracy is good, and the mechanical strength is also sufficient.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a slurry liquid contg. phosphor on the surface of an Si substrate by a slurry method without forming a dead space. SOLUTION: This method consists in arranging a circumferential substrate 6 along the outer periphery of the Si substrate 2. The height of the circumferential substrate 6 is set equal to or lower than that of the substrate 2 in such a manner that the build-up part 4 of the slurry liquid 1 contg. the phosphor is not formed on the surface edge of the Si substrate 2 by surface tension. The slurry liquid 1 is spread and applied by centrifugal force on the surface of the rotating Si substrate 2 in such a manner that the slurry liquid 1 applied on the Si substrate 2 and the slurry liquid 1 applied on the circumferential substrate 6 form the continuous same layer.

The arrangement plate can be used as a jig utilized in the case support members are set in a vacuum glass container and the degree of a positioning shift from an arrangement position of a support member 1 can be improved.

The device comprises a first substrate carry-in part 11 for carrying in cathode substrates put in cassettes in units of 4 to 10 pieces, a second substrate carry-in part 12 for carrying in similarly cassetted anode substrates, a cleaning part 13 for cleaning substrates carried in, a temporary alignment part 14 for putting an anode substrate on a cathode substrate and temporarily fastening them together by a clip or the like, a precise alignment part 15 for exactly aligning upper and lower substrates based on a minute picture image by a microscope, etc., of reference marks on a pair of temporarily aligned substrates, and a substrate carry-out part 16 for fixing and carrying out a pair of substrates having been aligned by the precise alignment part 15.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To magnify a transfer range, reduce the number of faulty products, and improve its mass production. SOLUTION: The surface of a jig 7 is measured by touch sensors 17A-17C disposed on a moving part 12. According to this measured result about the surface of the jig 7, the surface of the jig 7 is adjusted in a parallel condition by driving a jig adjusting part 6. In a condition in which a plurality of struts 15 are attracted and held to the jig 7 adjusted in a parallel condition at a prescribed clearance, a substrate 14 coated with an adhesive material and which is attached to a moving part 12 is sent down, and the adhesive material 13 is coated on each tip end of the struts 15. A substrate 16 to which the struts 15 are transfered is installed on the moving part 12, and dispersion of the face direction of the substrate 16 is measured by touch sensors 5A-5C. According to this measured result about the dispersion of the face direction of the substrate 16 the jig adjusting part 6 is driven, the surface of the jig 7 is paralleled with the surface of the substrate 16. In this condition, the moving part 12 is sent down, and the struts 15 are transfered to the surface of the substrate 16.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device in which no leak current is carried in the part of a sealant even when a high voltage is applied to an anode electrode by enclosing an anode drawing electrode in the sealant position with an insulating material so as not to make contact directly with the sealant. SOLUTION: An anode drawing electrode 21 is enclosed by a glass tube 20 so as not to make contact directly with a sealant 7 welded to an anode substrate 1 or a cathode substrate 2. The connection of the anode drawing electrode 21 to an anode electrode 15 is performed, for example, by nipping the tip of the anode drawing electrode 21 by the anode substrate 1 and the glass tube 20, and this nipping force is caused by the atmospheric pressure. Although an anode voltage of, for example, 2-5 kV is applied to the anode drawing electrode 21, no leak current is carried in the part of the sealant 7 since this electrode 21 does not make contact with the sealant 7.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method of a single crystal wafer for increasing the number of elements per wafer as much as possible and at the same time for creating a good quality display element which is free from getting out of shape and chipping off of a phosphor and causes neither leaking light emission nor brightness lowering, by cutting back dead space to the minimum. SOLUTION: In this method, work of a single crystal semiconductor wafer 1 for use in a fluorescent character display tube is conducted for manufacturing a chip 3 coated with a phosphor 4 used as a display part of the fluorescent character display tube. In this event, a plurality of chips 3 are formed such that the phosphor 4 is coatingly attached to the single crystal semiconductor wafer 1 for use in the fluorescent character display tube in each of a plurality of regions established at fixed intervals thereon, that a water-resistant protection film 5 is formed on this phosphor 4, and that the single crystal semiconductor wafer 1 for use in the fluorescent character display tube is cut off by each of the aforesaid regions with a dicing saw while cutting water is used. The chips 3 are baked and the water-resistant protection film 5 is vaporized in a backing process in manufacturing processes of the fluorescent character display tube which uses these chips 3 as display part.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a container for a display device in which even when a spacer is disposed between a cathode substrate and an anode substrate, an electron source is not polluted and also a fluorescent material layer is not deteriorated in a container comprising a cathode substrate and an anode substrate. CONSTITUTION: Electrons released from tip of an emitter cone 9 are accelerated by an anode conductor 6-1 applied with positive voltage against a gate conductor 6-1, and thus impinge on a luminescent material layer 6-2, so that the luminescent material layer 6-2 is excited and makes luminescence. This luminescence is observed through a transparent, anode substrate 5. A spacer 3 is fixed only in its end on the side of a cathode substrate 1 with acryl resin (residue) 4, so that even with irradiation of electrons released to a fixed portion of the spacer 3, oxygen is not liberated.
