    Abstract: The device is designed to cut a layer of material (10), which is provided with a groove (10a), along the length of the required cutting line. It consists of a pair of holders (2), which are designed to hold the two side parts of the material rigidly in position, with the groove lying between them. A load is applied externally, in order to displace at least one of the sides, gripped by the holder, in order to cut the material along the length of the groove. The holders are formed as a pair of bases (4), each in the form of a rectangular parallelepiped, of which the upper flat surface acts as the holding surface. The bases are maintained in a position with a predetermined distance between them, with the upper surfaces of each base in the same plane. The material is placed on the upper surface and held in position by vacuum.

    Abstract: A support aligning fixture capable of facilitating fitting of supports in support holes of an aligning plate and improving positional accuracy of the supports. First and second aligning plate members of the same construction and thickness are superposed on each other while being registered with each other, to thereby provide an aligning plate. The aligning plate members each are formed with tapered support holes, to thereby facilitating insertion of supports therein. The supports are positioned by two diameter-reduced ends of the support holes of the aligning plate members, resulting in positional accuracy of the supports being increased.

    Abstract: An automatic support pillar transfer mechanism is provided that enables an enlarged transfer range, reduced produce failure and mass-production. The touch sensors 17a to 7c are arranged on the moving section 12 to measure the plane orientation of the surface of the jig 7. The jig adjusting section 6 is driven based on the measurement results on the plane orientations of surfaces of the jig 7 to adjust the surface of the jig 7 in parallel. With plural support pillars 15 sucked and held at predetermined intervals by the jig 7 adjusted in parallel, the bonding agent coated substrate 14 attached on the moving section 12 is descended to coat the bonding agent 13 onto the one ends of the support pillars 15. The substrate 16 to which the support pillars 15 are transferred is attached to the moving section 12. Variations in plane orientation of surfaces of the substrate 16 are respectively measured by means of the touch sensors 5a to 5c. The jig adjusting section 6 is driven according to the variations in plane orientation of the surfaces of the substrate 16. With the surface of the jig 7 arranged in parallel to the surface of the substrate 16, the moving section 12 is descended to transfer the support pillars 15 onto the surface of the substrate 16.

Cathode substrates and anode substrates are prepared by multisubstrate co-formation techniques. A cathode source plate is cut into a plurality of individual cathode substrates, which are mounted on an anode source plate by surface-mounting. Then, getter boxes are temporarily fixed on the anode source plate and then sealedly joined thereto together with cathode substrates.     Abstract: A strut aligning fixture capable of improving misregistration of struts arranged between two glass plates for a vacuum glass envelope to hold the glass plates spaced from each other at a predetermined interval. An alignment plate is formed of a first alignment plate member of a small thickness and a second alignment plate member of a large thickness by lamination. The first alignment plate member is provided with strut holes, which can be formed with high accuracy because of a reduced thickness of the first alignment plate member. The alignment plate is used as a fixture for arranging the struts in the vacuum glass envelope while minimizing misregistration of the struts.
