    Abstract: PROCESS FOR MAKING ACETIC ANHYDRIDE The disclosure relates to a process for making acetic anhydride by reacting methyl acetate and/or dimethylether with carbon monoxide, if desired in admixture with up to 20 volume % hydrogen, under practically anhydrous conditions at temperatures of 120 to 270.degree.C, under pressures of 1 to 500 bars in the presence of a catalyst system containing nickel or a nickel compound, an organic iodine or bromine compound as well as a tertiary or quaternary organic phosphorus compound. More particularly, a catalyst system containing a titanium or zirconium compound as an additional constituent is used,

    Abstract: Reduction of carbon monoxide by means of hydrogen with the resultant formation of a mixture of hydrocarbons having substantially from 1 to 4 carbon atoms in contact with a catalyst containing iron or a mixture of iron and copper as its catalytically active ingredient, the catalyst being made by contacting one or more complex salts of the following general formula: Mex ¢Fe(CN)6!y in which Me stands for an iron and/or copper-ion, x stands for a number of 1 to 4, and y stands for a number of 1 to 3, with hydrogen or a hydrogen/carbon monoxide-mixture at about 200 to 500.degree.C, under 1 to 100 atmospheres absolute and over a period of about 2 to 20 hours and thereby reducing the complex salts substantially to elementary iron or copper.

    Abstract: Carrier-supported catalyst comprised of a mixture of aluminates of copper, manganese and nickel as is active ingredients, and of pure aluminum oxide as its carrier. The catalyst contains the aluminates in a total proportion of 10 to 45 weight % and may contain copper, manganese and nickel in a ratio by weight of (2-4) : (1-2) : (0.1-1). Between 0.5 and 10 weight % of cerium in oxide form may be further applied to the catalyst.
