Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a digest of a document of a predefined layout. SOLUTION: A digest screen display content deciding means 41 selects display elements according to display priority levels of display elements belonging to each region of a document computed by a digest screen display priority information creating means 40, and under the condition not more than a requested display area, decides all the display elements as display contents of a digest screen. In the process, merging relations between regions are also set according to layout information on regions created by a digest screen region layout information creating means 42. A detailed screen display content deciding means 44 decides display contents of a detailed screen according to the region merging relations, and creates a digest of the detailed screen according to control information created by a control information creating means. In response to a user operation, a digest screen display content changing means 48 changes the display contents of the digest screen. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To imbed attached information in a moving picture without deteriorating the image quality and losing a compression efficiency. SOLUTION: This invention relates a data hiding method that imbeds information in a moving picture consisting of frames. Macro blocks to which the information is imbedded are specified. Imbedding rules are defined where contents of imbedded data are cross-referenced with an inter-frame prediction type of the macro blocks. The rules define that a 2-way prediction is adopted for a prediction type in the case of imbedding, e.g. '1', and forward or backward prediction is adopted when '0' is imbedded. The prediction type of macro blocks specified for an object of imbed processing is forcibly decided according to the data going to be imbedded according to the rules. In the case of extraction, extraction rules in reverse relation to the imbed rules are defined, and the imbedded bits are extracted on the basis of the prediction type of the specified macro blocks as the object of extraction processing by referencing the extraction rules.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make discriminable and sortable the motions by calculating a matching degree between the unknown and reference motions and sorting the unknown motions. SOLUTION: A procedure S1 includes a part 100 which photographs each of (k) types of reference motions and stores the video images showing these reference motions and a part 200 which performs the wavelet transformation of the stored video images and calculates a wavelet expansion coefficient. The (k) shows the number of types of motions which are used for the sorting and can be optionally selected. A procedure S2 includes a part 300 which photographs the unknown motions and stores the video images showing these unknown motions and a part 400 which performs the wavelet transformation of the stored video images and calculates a wavelet expansion coefficient. A procedure S3 includes a part 500 which calculates a degree of coincidence between the unknown and reference motions based on the wavelet expansion coefficients calculated at both parts 200 and 400 and sorts the unknown motions based on this calculation result. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoding method for reproducing an image of high picture quality by permitting a user to select picture quality and data quantity in multiple stages and adding data to compression data which can be decoded. SOLUTION: An original image is divided at every object area having prescribed correlation and the hierarchy structure of the object area is decided 62. The object area is plane-approximated 63 with more than one polygonal plane so that a luminance value and the errors of colors become within prescribed thresholds. A primary difference image is obtained 64 by obtaining a difference between the original image and the image which is plane- approximated. An nth order (n>=1) difference image is encoded, compressed 65 and the image which is plane-approximated and the encoded nth other difference image are stored 66. The (n+1)th order difference image is obtained 67 from a difference between the image obtained by expanding the compressed nth order difference image with the nth order difference image.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adequately apply an ellipse regardless of precision in extracting a foreground area. SOLUTION: A head detecting device is provided with; a foreground-extracting part which extracts a foreground area, in which an image of a person is picked up, from an inputted image; a first main axis computation part which has a first moment computation part which computes a moment around the gravity center of the foreground area and computes a main axis of the foreground area based on the moment around the gravity center of the foreground area; a head computing part which computes a head-part area included as a part of the foreground area based on the main axis and shape of the foreground area; and an ellipse determination part which determines an ellipse to be applied to the head of the person based on the shape of the head area. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data-editing system for supporting preparation of a screen easy to see for a visually impaired user, such as a visually handicapped person and an aged person, by analyzing the screen easy to see and performing proper correction in regard to an image when mainly screen-displaying a web page. SOLUTION: The data-editing system comprises a rendering part 20 for rendering an HTML document to produce an image, an image processing part 30 for simulating and evaluating a viewing method of the image generated in part 20 based on prescribed visual characteristics, and a result presentation part 40 for specifying an HTML element to be corrected in the HTML document, being a processing object to be presented to a web page producer on the basis of an evaluation result of the image processing part 30. In addition, the result presentation part 40 retrieves a correction method for the HTML element to be corrected from a condition model storing part 10. A document correction processing part 50 practically corrects the HTML document. Thus, the optical characteristics of an anti-dazzle film used for the surfaces of various displays, such as a wordprocessor, a computer, a television set, an on-vehicle instrument board, are improved to be a display screen which is easy to view, in this way. Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to provide a method for embedding additional information into a video movie without substantially having an influence on the compression efficiency of the video movie and also without substantially causing degradation of the picture quality. ÄCONSTITUTIONÜ Specify at least one embedding region in the frame of the video movie for embedding information, and determine a type of interframe prediction of the embedding region in correspondence with information to be embedded by referring to an embedding rule where a content of data to be embedded is caused to correspond to the type of interframe prediction of the embedding region. It is desirable that the frame in which the embedding region exists is a bidirectionally predictive-coded frame.

Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a description method for efficiently representing contents of motion picture with a small data volume. The organization of the present invention (1) represents a trajectory of how each object has moved over time by using reference plane representing position information of each object, (2) sets a description unit based on a type of action of each object by using changes in shape of each object, (3) has actions of each object represented as each behavioral section, and (4) comprises a description facility capable of reading and interpreting definition of an object dependent on video contents, definition of classes of actions, and definition of interpretation of a scene by interaction of plural objects.
