    Abstract: Se describen un método y un sistema para la coordinacion autonoma de canales, para un sistema de distribucion inalámbrico (WDS). Un sistema de comunicacion inalámbrico incluye una pluralidad de puntos de acceso (AP), y los AP se comunican entre sí mediante un WDS. Se establece un grupo de canales coordinados (CCG) de una pluralidad de AP miembro. Los AP miembro del CCG acampan en un canal del WDS usado para el WDS, entre los AP miembro del CCG. Un AP entre los AP miembro del CCG se designa como AP principal. El AP principal se coordina con otros AP miembro del CCG, para seleccionar y configurar el canal del WDS para el CCG, y para agregar y eliminar AP miembro. Al permitir que los AP definan un CCG, los cambios de canal del WDS se realizan en forma autonoma, a la vez que se mantiene la conectividad.

    Abstract: The present invention proposes an infrastructure to enable seamless mobility for wireless metropolitan area networks (WMANs) and to provide for management of spectrum and network resources. An WMAN reference model is introduced where the radio resource management (RRM) and handover (HO) sublayer is introduced into the protocol stack.
