Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a polyurethane giving improved working environments, having an improved product performance, and useful as an elastomer, etc., by employing a polyisocyanate component, a polyol component and a specific tertiary amino alcohol as a part of the polyol component. CONSTITUTION:When a polyurethane is produced from a polyisocyanate component such as tolylene diisocyanate and a polyol component such as a polyesterpolyol, a tertiary amino alcohol of the formula [R is 2-20C alkylene, aralkylene, (CH2CH2O)p-(CH2CH2)q (p) is O, a positive number; (q) is a positive number); (n) is 2-50] produced by reacting a diol component such as 1,3- butanediol and piperazine is used at least as a part of the polyol component.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the subject catalyst composed of methylimidazole and dimethylimidazole at a specific ratio, having high catalytic activity and short curing time and giving a polyurethane foam having excellent glueability. CONSTITUTION:The objective catalyst is composed of (A) 30-70wt.% of 1- methylimidazole and (B) 70-30wt.% of 1,2-dimethylimidazole. The catalyst is useful for the production of a polyurethane foam by reacting a compound having >=2 active hydrogen atoms and a molecular weight of 300-10,000 (e.g. polyol) with a polyisocyanate in the presence of a foaming agent.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable to form a catalyst for polyurethane foam which can stably retain its effective retarding effect by mixing an organic carboxylic acid salt of a tertiary amine compound with a specified amount of a monoalcohol organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:This catalyst for polyurethane foam is formed by mixing one or a plurality of organic carboxylic acid salts of tertiary amine compounds with a 1-6C monoalcohol organic solvent in an amount of 10-40wt.% based on the both. As the organic carboxylic acid salt, one produced by using 0.1-1.0 equivalent, per equivalent of the nitrogen atoms of the tertiary amine compound, of a monobasic organic carboxylic acid is desirable. As the above organic carboxylic acid, formic acid is particularly desirable. As the monoalcohol organic solvents, methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, etc., are desirable.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To integrate urethanating reaction with film forming process by a method wherein polyol component and polyisocyanate compound, both of which are the raw material components of polyurethane, are polymerized by being passed through a twin-screw extruder and, after that, formed into a film by being passed through a die. CONSTITUTION:Polyol component 1 and polyisocyanate compound 2, both of which are the raw material of polyurethane, are mixed with each other and agitated and the resultant mixture is poured in a twin-screw extruder 4 so as to be polymerized. After that, the polymerized mixture is sent through or without a constant delivery pump 5 so as to pass through a die 6 mounted on the twin-screw extruder 4 in order to be formed into a film. Since the polymerization from the raw materials of polyurethane and film-forming are simultaneously effected instead of the film-forming through the melt extrusion of thermoplastic polyurethane, the simplification of production process and the formation of thermosetting-type polyurethane film becomes possible.
