Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare a cement admixture for improving fluidity by using a copolymer and/or the metallic salt obtained by polymerizing monomers expressed by formulas I, II, III and IV in combination with I/II/III or IV as an essential component. CONSTITUTION:The copolymer and/or the metallic salt having 1000-1000000 weight average molecular weight is obtained by mixing the monomer expressed by the formula I (R1-2 is H, 1-3C alkyl, X is H, 1-3C linear or branched alkyl, Y is -OH, -O(CnH2nO)mH, Z1 is H, 1-2 valent metal, ammonium, optionally substituted amino, n is 0-2, m is 1-100) and II-IV (R3-6, R8-9 is H, 1-3C alkyl, R7, R10 is H, methyl, AO is 2-3C oxyalkylene, Z2-3 is H, univalent metal, ammonium, optionally substituted amino, Z4 is bivalent metal, m is 0-2, n is 3-500) so that I/II/III or IV is (1-20)/(1-98)/(1-98) (wt.%) and heating to polymerize with the addition of the polymerization initiator. The fluidity of cement is improved by blending 0.05-3.0wt.% admixture mainly containing the copolymer and/or the metallic salt.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve workability of concrete in a superhigh water-reducing region by mixing a specific formaldehyde addition-cocondensate with a water- insoluble copolymer and a water- -soluble polymer. CONSTITUTION:A cement admixture is obtained by blending (A) a cocondensate, containing compounds expressed by formula I (R is H or lower alkyl), formula II (X is H or alkali metal) and formula III or IV at (0.1-1.0):(0.1-1.0)-(0.1-1.0) molar ratio and prepared by addition-cocondensation with formaldehyde with (B) a copolymer of a 2-8C olefin and an ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid having 0.1-20mum average particle diameter and 500-5000 molecular weight or its polyvalent metallic salt and (C) one or more of cellulosic, synthetic or proteinaceous water-soluble polymers so as to provide 100:(0.5-20) weight ratio of the components (A) with (B) used together and 100:(0.01-5) weight ratio of the components (A) with (C) used in combination.
