    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily producing a polymer particle dispersion in which the polymer particles are dispersed in a non-aqueous solvent. SOLUTION: This method for producing a polymer particle dispersion in which the polymer particles are dispersed in a non-aqueous solvent comprises subjecting a polymerizable monomer having a vinyl group to a suspension polymerization in the presence of an ammonium salt type surfactant as a dispersing agent in an aqueous solvent, subjecting the obtained polymer suspension to the addition of the non-aqueous solvent and the ammonium salt-removing treatment of the ammonium salt type surfactant, and dehydrating the product before, after or during the ammonium salt-removing treatment.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain particles having a narrow particle diameter distribution and each having a hydrophobic surface by subjecting a vinyl monomer to dispersion polymerization in at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbon solvents and silicone solvents in the presence of a dispersant comprising an aminated silicone. SOLUTION: The dispersant used comprises an aminated silicone having a modifying group represented by the formula (wherein n is 3 to 20; and A and B are each H, a 1-22C hydrocarbon group, a 1-22C aminoalkyl, etc.), such as a 3-aminopropyl group, with an amine equivalent of 300-50,000 g/mol and a viscosity (25 deg.C) of 50-100 cSt. At least one solvent selected from hydrocarbon solvents, such as hexane and toluene, and silicone solvents is mixed with a vinyl monomer, such as an alkyl acrylate, in an amount sufficient to provide a concentration of 2-30 wt.%, an aminated silicone dispersant in an amount of 0.1-20 wt.% based on the monomer, a polymerization initiator comprising, e.g. lauroyl peroxide in an amount of 0.1-10 wt.%, and a chain transfer agent, and the mixture is subjected to dispersion polymerization at room temperature to 150 deg.C to give polymer particles having a diameter of 0.3-20 μm.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent composition, having high bivalent metallic ion scavenging ability and mud dispersibility and capable of manifesting high detergency by including a poly(2-methyleneglutaric acid) as a builder therein. SOLUTION: This liquid detergent composition comprises (A) a surfactant and (B) poly(2-methyleneglutaric acid) or its salt in an amount of preferably 0.1-50wt.%. Furthermore, the molecular weight of the component B is 1,000-100,000 and the component B is preferably a sodium, potassium salt or a (mono- di- or tri)ethanolamine salt. For example, an alkylbenzenesulfonate is preferably blended in an amount of 1-99wt.% based on the total composition as the component A. An enzyme or a bleaching agent or both are preferably further blended therein.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic for protecting from ultra-violet(UV) ray excellent in retention of UV protecting effect capable of dermal respiration, free from inhibiting the water vaporization and allowing the components such as UV absorbing agent to exist on the skin at a high temperature when applied on skin. SOLUTION: This cosmetic comprises as active components 0.1-0.8wt.% of a both terminal modified polyorganosiloxane of the formula (R1 and R2 are each a 1-6 C alkyl and a phenyl; R3 is a saturated hydrocarbon having average carbon number of 16-600; n is 0-3000) and 0.05-40wt.% of an oil-soluble UV ray absorbing agent. A water-soluble UV ray absorbing agent and UV ray scattering agent may be formulated and those additives used in conventional cosmetic such as oil agent, aqueous component, emulsifier, antiseptic agent, antioxidant, perfume and powder may be formulated at need. They may be prepared as liquid, solid, paste, water in oil or oil in water type emulsion.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a new modified polyethylene having a polar and highly reactive functional group near the middle part of the molecule in high purity by performing living polymerization of ethylene using an alkyllithium/t-diamine initiator and reacting the product with a formic acid ester. CONSTITUTION:Ethylene is subjected to living polymerization in the presence of an initiator consisting of a 1-6C straight or a branched alkyllithium (e.g. methyllithium) and a t-diamine (preferably tetramethylethylenediamine, etc.) preferably at 20-80 deg.C generally for 0.1-24hr. The polymerization product is reacted with a formic acid ester preferably by slowly adding the ester little by little to the system to obtain the objective polyethylene having a functional group near the middle part of the molecular chain and expressed by the formula (R) is a 1-6C straight or a branched saturated hydrocarbon chain; (m) and (n) are 10-1,000; A is H or a alkali metal). The living polymerization is preferably carried out by introducing ethylene into a cyclohexane solution containing the initiator under a pressure of 1-100kg/cm .

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a bathing agent composition capable of sustaining aroma of constant quality and intensity for a long period after introducing the aforementioned composition into bath water containing a microencapsulated and an unmicroencapsulated perfumes. CONSTITUTION:A bathing agent composition is obtained by including a microencapsulated perfume using a polymer, e.g. a copolymer of (meth)acrylic acid and an acrylic or a methacrylic acid ester capable of dissolving at a normal bath temperature, i.e., 37-43 deg.C after a prescribed time as a wall material and an unmicroencapsulated perfume, preferably occluded and impregnated in a porous substance, oil absorbing powder, etc. It is effective to slowly scent the highly volatile perfume with the microcapsules and scent the low volatile perfume from the substance impregnated with the perfume. Copolymers of (meth) acrylic acid-methyl (meth)acrylate are preferred as the aforementioned wall material and dissolution rate and the duration of the aroma can be controlled within a wide pH range in taking a bath by changing composition ratio thereof.
