    Abstract: PURPOSE: To form an ultra-water-repellent surface by coating a water-repellent substance on the surface of a metal having the contact angle to water below a specific value and having a finely rugged structure and to improve the frictional property of the resultant metallic material to ice and snow. CONSTITUTION: A finely rugged structure is imparted to the surface of a metal so that the contact angle to water is regulated to surface seen as a plane is preferably made larger. The surface of the metal is then coated with a water-repellent substance to form an ultra-water-repellent surface. This coating is carried out by treating the surface of the metal with a coupling agent such as trichloroalkylsilane.

A voltage is impressed on both electrodes 4 from a power source 5 at the rate of (25-0.04T)V/mm (where T is the temp. in deg.C) per mm thickness of the solid electrolyte to increase the amt. of oxygen to be passed through the electrolyte 1, the oxygen is converted to an active oxygen species, and the reaction substrate in the oxidation reaction chamber 3 is easily oxidized in the absence of catalyst.

The sliding element 11A and the diaphragm 12 are arranged to allow the sliding sound caused by the sliding element 11A to be transmitted through the diaphragm 12 to the microphone 5 and to attenuate vibration transmitted from outside of the diaphragm 12 to the microphone.     Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the water repellency of a solid (a machine part, a tool, an industrial good, etc.) required to be water-repellent by forming at least a part of the surface of the solid into a specific multistage projection structure. CONSTITUTION:At least a part of a water-repellent surface of a solid is formed into a multistep projection structure which comprises a projection structure A with a larger period and a projection structure B with a smaller period and has a multiplication factor of the surface area of 5 or higher and a period of 1-10mm. The multistage projection structure is formed by mechanical process or by chemical reaction, e.g. by electrolytic plating or by precipitating crystals or agglomerating particles on the solid surface. The formation of the multistage projection structure improves the water-repellency of rainwear, kitchen utensils, sanitary goods, and other materials, tools, and industrial goods requiring water repellency.
