Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas discharge display panel, in which the maintaining period, which contributes the display emission, among the operating period of a gas discharge display panel is large, by setting the number of arrangement of scanning electrodes and maintaining electrodes, which are arranged opposite to writing electrodes through a discharge space, at the specified number or less. SOLUTION: A discharge space 7 is formed between a glass plate 2 and a glass plate 11, and plural scanning electrodes 3 are provided on the surface of the glass plate 2 in the glass plate 11 side in practically parallel with each other, and plural maintaining electrodes 4 are arranged in parallel with each other between the scanning electrodes 3 so as to be inserted each other and so as to form each pair with the scanning electrode 3. Plural writing electrodes 10 are provided on the surface of the glass plate 11 in the glass plate 2 side so as to be opposite to the scanning electrodes 3 and the maintaining electrodes 4 through the discharge space 7. With this structure, the number of each arrangement of the scanning electrode 3 and the maintaining electrode 4 is set at the specified number or less. A gas discharge display panel, in which the share of the maintaining period, which contributes for the display emission, among the operating period of the discharge type display panel is large, is thereby obtained.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas discharge tube display panel with fine pixel display ability, without erroneous displays or discharge flickering by forming partition walls partitioning the discharge space with low-softening-point portions and high-softening-point portions, so that the softening point of the low-softening- point portions can be relatively lower than that of the high-softening-point portions. SOLUTION: A display panel has a front glass substrate 1 provided with electrodes, a back glass substrate 9 provided with electrodes, a discharge space formed between both substrates, partition walls 11 to partition the discharge space and sealing portions 18 to paste both substrates together, via the partition walls. The partition walls 11 are formed with low-softening-point portions 11b and high-softening-point portions 11a, so that the softening point of the low- softening-point portions 11b can be relatively lower than that of the high- softening-point portions 11a to adhere the low-softening-point portions 11b to the front glass substrate 1 with heating.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To surely carry out image eliminating work of an AC-type PDP-way display apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of pairs of electrode groups are arranged in the inner face of a first glass substrate composing an external casing, each said pair comprises a scanning electrode 10 and a sustainable discharge electrode set in parallel to the scanning electrode. A protective film layer is formed on a dielectric layer which covers the electrode groups and address electrodes 15 facing to the protective layer through a discharge space are formed in the inner face of a second glass substrate of the external casing. Each scanning electrode 10 and each subtainable discharge electrode 11 are so formed as to be like combs facing mutually at a slight distance and as to almost interlock the teeth of the comb-like electrodes and the address electrodes 15 are arranged at positions facing to the comb teeth of the scanning electrodes 10 along the longitudinal direction of the comb teeth. Write electric charge is accumulated on the protective film layer of a W part and sustainable discharge occurs in a S part. Elimination work of the sustainable discharge can be done uniformly on the protective film layer of the S part.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prolong the life of a gas discharge display apparatus without degrading the insulating property of a dielectric layer surface by arranging an auxiliary discharging electrode to charge a second dielectric layer and a second electrode opposite to each other and forming the second dielectric layer out of porous material. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary discharging electrode 2, a first dielectric layer 3a, a second dielectric layer 3b, and stripe shape first electrode 4 group are successively layered on a glass substrate 1. Stripe shape second electrode 6 group which are kept from the first electrode 4 group by a prescribed distance by a barrier plate 5 and rectangular to the electrode 4 group are formed on a translucent glass substrate 7 and the discharging electrode 2 and an electrode 6 are so set on the opposite to each other as to charge the dielectric layer 3b. The dielectric layer 3a is formed out of a compound material containing oxides and having a prescribed pore diameter. The dielectric layer 3b is formed out of a porous compound material having a prescribed pore diameter. The lower face of the barrier plate 5 touches the dielectric layer 3b and the electrode 4 group and the upper face of the barrier plate 5 touches the glass substrate 7 and each contact part of the substrate 1 and the substrate 7 is air-tightly sealed with low melting glass and thus discharge spaces are formed.
