Abstract: PURPOSE:To ensure a refrigerator temperature of which is stable at all times by detecting the frequency of the opening and closing of a door of the refrigerator, and changing set temperature for variably changing the number of revolutions of a fan responsibly to a detected result. CONSTITUTION:In control means 14 for controlling a compressor 4 and a cold air circulation fan 6 based upon an output signal from refrigerator temperature detector means 8 for detecting temperature in a freezing chamber of a refrigerator, door opening/closing detector means 13 is provided, and a counter 15 is provided in the control means 14 for counting the number of signalling from the door opening/closing detector means 13. It is judged whether refrigerator temperature is higher or lower than a set value T1 (-22 deg.C for example), and if higher, the fan 6 is rotated at a high speed through revolution control means 11 and the compressor 4 is operated. Then, the contents of the counter 15 are checked, and if they are higher than a set value (30 times for example), the refrigerator temperature is compared with a set value T4 (-15 deg.C for example), and if a detected value is higher than the set value, the fan 6 is rotated at a high speed as well.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To cause a foodstuff stored in a refrigerator to reach its low temperature as soon as possible and prevent the foodstuff from being damaged by a method wherein a thermal capacity of items to be stored is detected by a variation gradient of temperature and when the gradient shows a high value, a set temperature in a refrigeration chamber for closing a damper is lowered than a normal temperature and then a cooling time is extended. CONSTITUTION:A control means 22 such as a micro-computer or the like has a timer for use in counting a time therein. A freezing chamber temperature sensing means 8 and a refrigeration chamber temperature sensing means 12 are connected to an input terminal of the control means 22. Driving means 23 for operating a compressor 9 and a blower 7 as well as a driving means 24 for moving a damper 11 are connected to an output terminal. An initial temperature and a temperature after elapsing a specified time are detected by the refrigerator chamber temperature sensing means 12 during a cooling operation and then a variation gradient of temperature is calculated. When the variation gradient in temperature is sharp, it is judged that this is a state in which the refrigerator chamber is not sufficiently cooled or warm foodstuffs are set into the refrigerator chamber, the set temperature in the refrigerator chamber is lowered to extend a cooling action. Thus, a sufficient cooling is carried out and a keeping of the foodstuffs to be freezed is positively carried out.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To achieve a higher evaporating capacity under conditions in which a plenty of defrosted water builds up by measuring a defrosting time to operate an evaporation promoting blower synchronizing the operation of a rotary type compressor up to the subsequent defrosting in comparison with a preset value. CONSTITUTION:This apparatus is equipped with a rotary type compressor 6 within a machine chamber 5, an evaporation promoting blower 30 adapted to cause a forced convection within the chamber 5 and a defrosting means which starts a defrosting after a specified time of operation of the compressor 6. Defrosting time is measured with a defrosting timer 25 to be compared with a set value and when the set value is exceeded, water frost attached to a cooler 7 is judged to become massive. To raise a evaporating capacity of water defrosted on a defrosted water tray 9, the blower 30 is operated up to the subsequent defrosting synchronizing the operation of the compressor 6 to cause a forced convection within the chamber 5. This can improve the evaporating capacity as compared with the conventional type and also prevents dew formation of a bottom surface part of the refrigerator by effect of the convection.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent water from running over ice on an ice storage box eventually being frozen into a large mass by a method wherein a feed water timer is monitored by another timer and a feed water pump motor is stopped forcibly when the feed water timer does not expire in time even after a specified time passes to execute an operation of a control means from the first step. CONSTITUTION:A control means 15 comprising a microcomputer or the like is made up of a feed water timer 14 and a timer which operates following the feed water timer to monitor it. When the feed water timer 14 fails to count as caused by extraneous noises and radio wave noises, a set time T of the timer 16 is reached at the step 103 and yes is selected at the step 103. In this case, with a judgment that abnormality occurs in an ice making cycle at the step 103, a return to the first step is made in the ice making cycle. Therefore, even when a feed water pump motor 4 happens to be kept ON during the ice making cycle, the return to the first step is made in the ice making cycle as the operation hours reach the time T set on the timer 16 to resume the operation of making ice.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the worst state of disabling the making of ice from occurring by a method wherein a motor is checked whether it is in action or not when a command is provided to drive the motor forcibly with a switch while the motor runs to check an advance to the step of driving the motor forcibly while the motor is in action. CONSTITUTION:Even when a command is provided to drive a motor 6 forcibly by closing a switch 11 while the motor 6 is ON in an ice making cycle, the motor 6 is checked to see if it is ON or OFF. As the motor 6 is ON, a flow of driving the motor 6 forcibly is excited soon to return to the original flow. When the switch 11 is depressed while the motor 6 is OFF, the motor 6 is driven forcibly and stopped after an ice making container 1 is positioned horizontal according to states of a position detecting means 8 and a horizontal position detecting means 9. Thus, a return to the original flow is possible.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent foods in cold storage from being adversely affected, e.g. damaged by freezing, by operating an operation timer when a compressor is operated under the condition where the temperature in a freezer compartment is lower than a predetermined temperature for instructing a compressor operation and the temperature in a cold storage chamber is lower than a predetermined temperature, and resetting the system to the condition immediately upon turning-ON of a power supply when a cumulative time count in the timer exceeds a predetermined period of time. CONSTITUTION:An operation timer 25 counts the duration of operation of a compressor 9 under the condition where temperatures detected by a freezer compartment temperature detector 8 and a cold storage chamber temperature detector 22 are not lower than respective set temperatures, on a cumulative basis over a predetermined period. Where data in a RAM 13 is brought into an abnormal condition due to noise or the like during a cooling operation, for instance, where the compressor 9 continues operating because a memory for the compressor 9 is set ON although the temperatures detected by the detectors 8 and 22 are not lower than the set temperatures, the operation timer is operated. When the cumulative counting is finished, the data in the RAM 13 is all cleared, then normal data is inputted, and a normal cooling operation is started again.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase reliability and prevent the clogging caused by frost as well as temperature rise in a refrigerator, which is accompanied by the clogging, by a method wherein quick cooling operation is started after starting defrosting when the continuous 'open' time of a damper is less than a predetermined time and more than a set time upon throwing-in of a quick cooling switch while the defrosting is started after starting the quick cooling operation when the continuous 'open' time of the same is less than the set time. CONSTITUTION:When the amount of cooling load is light, the accumulating time of a compressor 12 is extended to Tc whereby electric power consumption due to useless defrosting may be reduced. When the amount of cooling load is heavy, the defrosting is started when the continuous 'open' condition of the damper 29 of a motor damper 27 in a refrigerating chamber 6 has become more than a given time under a condition that the accumulating time of the compressor 12 is more than Te whereby the heat exchanging efficiency of a cooler 8 is deteriorated due to the remaining of frost and cooling is not effected thereby permitting the prevention of the deterioration of foods. When a quick cooling switch 14 is thrown under a condition that the continuous 'open' condition of the damper 29 of the motor damper 27 is less than a time Tg, the quick cooling operation is started, however, the frosting is started at first and the quick cooling operation is started after removing the frost of the cooler 8 when the continuous 'open' condition of the same is longer than the time Tg whereby the useless, defrosting of the cooler 8 may be prevented.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the cooling unit from being clogged with frost and prevent the temperature increase in the refrigerator by providing a means which first supplies power to the defrosting heater in a case when the quick cooling switch is turned on during a forced precooling operation and then starting a forced cooling operation. CONSTITUTION:In a case when the quick cooling switch 14 is turned on while the 'H' signal is outputted from the (e) output of a precool timer 20, both the inputs to an AND 35 become 'H' and further becomes 'L' in an inverter circuit 37. The output of an AND circuit 38 then becomes 'L', and a transistor 23 is turned off to stop the compressor 12 and fan 9. The output of the AND circuit 35 is connected to an OR circuit 36 to cause a defrosting timer 30 to output 'H' for a certain period of time and a transistor 31 to turn on to supply power to a defrosting timer 10. When the defrosting timer 30 has counted up a certain time period, the 'R' input to a quick cooling timer 34 becomes 'L' to output 'H' for a certain period of time, causing the (e) output of the precool timer 20 to become 'L', and so, both the inputs to the AND circuit 38 become 'H' to turn on the transistor 23 to operate the compressor 12 and fan 9 for a forced cooling operation for a certain time period.
