Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce ferromagnetic metallic powder which has a film contg. ZrO2 and excellent weatherability by treating iron oxyhydroxide with a Zr compd. in the stage of using the iron oxyhydroxide, etc., as a starting raw material and subjecting the material to hydrogen reduction to produce the ferromagnetic metallic particles essentially consisting of Fe. CONSTITUTION:The iron oxyhydroxide or oxide contg. at least one kind of P, Si, Al, and B at 0.1/100-5/100 ratio to the weight of Fe is suspended in water and the slurry or pasty Zr compd. such as zirconium nitrate is added thereto to make 0.1/100-5/100 ratio of the weight between Zr/F so that Zr ions are adsorbed on the particles of the iron hydroxide. Such iron hydroxide is subjected to filtering, washing, and drying and further to a heating treatment to >=600 deg.C in the atm. and in succession thereof, the iron hydroxide is subjected to the reduction treatment by hydrogen in a hydrogen atmosphere. The ferromagnetic metallic powder having excellent magnetic characteristics and weatherability is thus produced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce pulverized ferromagnetic metallic powder suitable for high-density recording by co-depositing Zr and other hydroxides during the production of iron oxyhydroxide in the stage of subjecting the iron oxide obtd. from the iron oxyhydroxide to hydrogen reduction to produce the ferromagnetic metallic powder. CONSTITUTION:The raw material which is the iron oxyhydroxide such as ferrous sulfate or ferrous chloride is dissolved in water and at the same time a Zr compd. such as zirconium oxynitrate or zirconium oxychloride or further Si, P, Al, etc., are dissolved in the form of a sodium salt. Zr, Si, P and Al are incorporated therein at the content ratios thereof to Fe of 0.1/100-5/100 by weight of Zr/Fe, Si/Fe, P/Fe, and A/Fe. An alkaline agent is added to such soln., by which the hydroxide of Fe and the hydroxide of Zr or further Si, Al, and P are simultaneously co-deposited. After such soln. is dehydrated, the powder is calcined at >=600 deg.C in the atm. and is thereby reduced with hydrogen as a reducing agent, by which the pulverized ferromagnetic metallic particles as a magnetic stock for a magnetic recording medium is produced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To produce ferromagnetic iron powder suitable for a magnetic recording medium by treating ferromagnetic metallic iron powder which contains a sintering preventive component and is reduced with a reducing gas with at least one of ammonia, amine, amide and imide thereby forming an oxide film on the surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:The powder of iron oxyhydroxide or iron which contains P, Si, Al, and B as the sintering preventive component respectively in the compsn. of P/Fe, Si/Fe, Al/Fe, and B/Fe by the weight of Fe is subjected to hydrogen reduction to form the pulverized ferromagnetic metallic powder essentially consisting of Fe. Such powder is subjected to a gaseous phase reaction treatment with at least one kind of the ammonia, amine, amide and imine at the treatment quantity of 0.01-5.0meq (based on NH3) equiv. ratio per 1g iron powder so as to be adsorbed therewith, by which the oxide film is formed on the surface of the iron powder. The pulverized ferromagnetic metallic powder which is provided with the excellent weatherability by such film and is used for the magnetic recording medium suitable for high-density recording is thus produced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a hydrate of alumina, excellent in dispersibility, with a minute grain size of 50-500% through a hydrolysis of the vapor of an alkylaluminum compound by steam. CONSTITUTION:An alkylaluminum compound (e.g. Al(CH3)3) is fed into a raw material tank 1 and heated to 50-200 deg.C. Then, an inert gas such as N2 is admitted into the tank 1 through a conduit 3 and gases thus mixed are allowed to pass through a heater 4. The gases are introducted into a reactor 5. On the other hand, pure water in a tank 2 is heated to produce steam, which is allowed to pass through a heater 6. Then, the steam thus heated is introduced into the reactor 5. In the reactor 5, the vapor of the alkylaluminum compound is brought into hydrolysis with the steam to form a hydrate of alumina. In this process, desirable temperature for the hydrolysis is 150-250 deg.C. After the reaction, the inside of the reactor 5 is sucked in by a blower 8 to regulate the pressure in the system while delivering the resulting powdered hydrate with the gases to a collector 7.

A polyimide layer for covering it is obtained by applying a polyamic acid solution obtained by polymerizing an aromatic tetracarboxylic dianhydride (A) represented by the formula I (wherein R is a tetravalent group selected from monocyclic aromatic groups) with a mixed aromatic diamine (B) of 5-25 mole % of an aromatic diamine (B1) represented by the formula II (wherein X is a divalent group selected from single bond, atoms such as S and O, or sulfonic group); a phenylene diamine; and 75-95 mole % of an aromatic diamine (B2) represented by the formula III (wherein Y is an atom such as S or O, or sulfonic group) followed by drying, and imidizing it.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain adherent insulating tape having excellent characteristics in adhesion bond between metal conductor, semiconductor and the like, reliability and mass-productivity by a method wherein thermoplastic polymer, which is formed on insulating board, has specified polyimide as essential ingredient and specified glass transition temperature and modulus of elasticity. CONSTITUTION:On both the sides or one side of insulating board, thermoplastic polymer layer, the essential ingredient of which is represented by the formula I. In this case, the glass transition temperature of the thermoplastic polymer is 180-280 deg.C and its modulus of elasticity is 10 -10 dyne/cm at 25 deg.C 10 -10 dyne/ cm at 250-300 deg.C. Silane coupling agent may be reacted or mixed with the thermoplastic polyimide at or after the synthesization of the thermoplastic polyimide. The adherent insulating tape 4 has excellent bonding characteristics to IC chip 1 and the like and adhesion takes place in a short period of time.
