Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus includes an user equipment which is configured to measure Minimization of Drive Tests (MDT) metrics, to measure Quality of Experience (QoE) metrics, to generate correlation information of at least one of the MDT metrics and at least one of the QoE metrics, and to report the correlation information.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communications and, more particularly, to enhanced compression formats for data compression (e.g., uplink data compression (UDC)). A method is provided for wireless communications. The method generally includes determining one or more blocks of data in a current packet matching one or more blocks of data in one or more portions of one or more previous packets stored in a memory, compressing at least a portion of the current packet based on an enhanced compression format having reduced metadata relative to another compression format to indicate one or more of the matching blocks of data, and transmitting the compressed current packet. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Abstract:
Disclosed are systems, methods and computer program products for performing multiple registrations across different radio access technologies (RATs). In one aspect, the registration procedure provisions a mobile device to register with a primary RAT and pre-register with at least one non-primary RAT using its air interface, which is different from the primary RAT. The pre-registration procedure includes setting up a radio session context and a packet data network (PDN) context with the non-primary RAT. The procedure further includes setting up a pseudo-binding with an external PDN gateway and obtaining binding state information for the mobile device from the PDN gateway without transferring binding state from the primary RAT to the non-primary RAT. The binding state information may be added to the PDN context. The mobile device may then perform handoff from the primary RAN to non-primary RAN using the preset contexts.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods are described for establishing a connection to a wireless subscriber network over a wireless LAN. A secure tunnel is established between a PDIF and a mobile station. Both voice and data calls are exchange via the tunnel. Voice calls are forwarded to a SIP GW while data calls are routed to the Internet.
Abstract:
Devices and methods are provided for handling a visitor access terminal (AT) associated with a macro network, in response to the visitor AT entering a coverage area of an access point (AP) base station. In one approach, the method involves allowing registration of the visitor AT with the AP base station, and forwarding information regarding the registration to the macro network. Upon activation of the visitor AT, communication between the visitor AT and the macro network may be facilitated by, for example, forwarding a paging request to the visitor AT through the AP base station.

Abstract:
The disclosure provides for a user equipment (UE) to change from a first network to a second network for an internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) call. Initially, the UE has a connection to a first network providing an IP address for the UE. The UE may receive, via the first network, a message indicating an incoming IMS call. The UE may transmit one or more IMS call setup messages on the first network at an IP layer. The UE may change the connection from the first network to a second network that uses a same identifier for the UE (e.g., the IP address). The UE may complete setup of the IMS call on the second network using the same identifier for the UE.
Abstract:
Aspects relate to methods and apparatus for dedicated bearer (DB) establishment handling during call setup for long term evolution. According to aspects, a method is provided herein for wireless communications that may be performed, for example, by a user equipment (UE). The method generally includes establishing a connection with a first access point (AP) to perform a call set up procedure for a call; receiving from the first AP a message associated with handover to a second AP; delaying giving up the call setup procedure for a duration if the message includes or is associated with an indication to release a dedicated bearer; and allowing establishment of a DB with the second AP during the duration. Consequently, the DB can be established with the second AP, without the UE giving up the call setup, and the call can be performed, thus improving user experience. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Abstract:
Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate device-side access point list management. Blacklists of access points unsuitable for providing network access to a related mobile device can be maintained as well as whitelists of suitable access points. The lists can be managed using an interface provided at the mobile device. In addition, lists can be modified according to provisioned network updates. Also, the lists can be of maximum size such that older entries can be purged upon insertion of newer entries based on a number of factors; timed entry deletion is provided as well. Access points in the lists can be stored and presented according to various identifiers related to the access points.
