Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described herein that facilitate data session suspend control in a multi-radio wireless communication system based on user equipment capability. As described herein, various techniques are provided herein whereby a wireless communication network with which a user device communicates can suspend a data session and/or other communication session associated with the user device upon identifying that the user device has moved to a disparate communication network based on the transmitter/receiver capabilities of the user device. In one example herein, a mobility management entity and/or other network management entity can determine whether to perform suspend control based on an event notification from another network based on user capability. In another example herein, a network to which a user device moves can determine whether to send an event notification to another network associated with the user device based on capabilities of the user device.

Abstract: A single receiver can collect multiple protocol data units at one time or iginating from different sources. While it can be desirable for higher prior ity protocol data units to be processed, loss of data unit portions can caus e confusion to the receiver. Therefore, even if a higher priority protocol d ata unit transfers to the receiver while a lower priority data unit is being processed, the lower priority unit can be completed before processing the h igher priority unit; thus, there can be a lower likelihood of confusion amon g protocol data units.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the disclosure relate generally to search of radio access technologies (RAT). For example, certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to a technique for performing higher priority radio access technology (RAT) searches in areas having a plurality of overlapping RATs, such as Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) and Long Term Evolution (LTE). According to certain aspects, a user equipment (UE) may be configured to periodically search for higher priority RATs in neighboring cells. According to certain aspects, upon finding a higher priority RAT cell, the UE may be further configured to evaluate, or "pre-evaluate", criteria for cell reselection from found cell to the currently camped cell, while still camped on the current cell. The UE may be configured to decide whether or not to switch to the found cell based on the evaluation.
