Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure provide various mechanisms for protection of MU transmissions, such as UL MU MIMO and UL OFDMA. The mechanisms may allow for various NAV setting options for UL MU MIMO or UL OFDMA. Aspects of the present invention relate to a processing system configured to generate a first frame configured to trigger multiple transmissions from multiple devices, wherein the first frame has a duration field set to a value corresponding to a duration that covers at least the multiple transmissions, and an interface configured to output the frame for transmission

Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are described for signaling soft time division multiplexing (TDM) assignment information in an enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) operation. The soft TDM assignment may be sent to one or more nodes of a group of nodes to communicate with indicated priority access parameters during at least one of a plurality of time slots. The soft TDM assignment may also convey one or more backoff operation rules to at least one of the one or more nodes. Further, primary and secondary non-concurrent nodes may be identified and a signal sent to the secondary node for it to communicate, at a different priority than the primary node, during at least one of a plurality of non-concurrent time slots the primary node is communicating during.
Abstract:
Apparatuses and methods for wireless communications via relays are disclosed. A relay capable client station STA includes a processing system configured to associate with an access point AP, to monitor a wireless medium for a request from another client station STA, and to determine whether to enable an interface between the access pont AP and the other client station STA in response to the request.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for multi user Block Acknowledgement Request protocols and frames. According to certain aspects, an apparatus is provided for wireless communications. The apparatus generally includes a processing system configured to determine that a plurality of devices have a first capability and generate a multi-user (MU) packet that solicits an immediate response from a plurality of the devices, wherein the immediate response comprises an acknowledgment (ACK) or block ACK (BA) and an interface configured to output the MU packet for transmission.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for selectively setting a network allocation vector for a subset of stations. In one aspect, a method of reserving access to wireless communication medium for a plurality of wireless devices, comprising: transmitting a message including a first indication for a first subset of wireless devices of the plurality of wireless devices to set a network allocation vector (NAV) and further including a second indication for a second subset of wireless devices of the plurality wireless devices to not set the NAV, thereby reserving access to the wireless medium for at least the second subset of the plurality of wireless devices.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for deferral based on basic service set identification (BSSID) information. According to certain aspects, a method for wireless communications is provided. The method generally includes receiving, on a shared access medium, a packet having at least one deferral-related parameter and deciding whether to defer transmission on the shared access medium based, at least in part, on the deferral-related parameter. Another method may generally include generating a packet comprising at least one deferral-related parameter to be used by another apparatus for deciding whether or not the other apparatus should defer transmitting on a shared access medium and providing the packet to the other apparatus.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for high efficiency wireless (HEW) access point (AP) coordination protocol are described herein. According to certain aspects, a method for coordinating access to a shared medium by an access point (AP) is provided. The method generally synchronizing with one or more peer apparatuses based on synchronization messages detected during a listening time, outputting, for transmission, scheduling information to the one or more peer apparatuses, the scheduling information indicating one or more time periods during which coordinated access to the shared medium is desired, and outputting, for transmission, at least some of the scheduling information to devices served by the apparatus.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for acknowledgment of multiple user uplink are provided. In one aspect, a method of wireless communication includes receiving a first wireless message from a first station at least partially concurrently with receiving a second wireless message from a second station, generating a first acknowledgment message in response to receiving the first wireless message, generating a second acknowledgement message in response to receiving the second wireless message, and transmitting the first acknowledgment message to the first station at least partially concurrently with transmitting the second acknowledgement message to the second station.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for communicating in a wireless network are provided. In one aspect, a method for wireless communication is provided. The method includes inserting an indication of a scrambling sequence into a signal field of a first data unit. The signal field occurs before a service field in the first data unit. The method includes scrambling at least a portion of the first data unit based at least on the inserted indication of the scrambling sequence in the signal field of the first data unit. The method includes transmitting the first data unit. The signal field is transmitted at a first data rate and the service field is transmitted at a second data rate greater than the first data rate. The indication of the scrambling sequence comprises either a scrambler seed or one or more parameters indicative of the scrambling sequence.
Abstract:
Systems and methods of clear channel assessment on a wireless network are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes determining a clear channel assessment (CCA) threshold based on a first transmission bandwidth, performing a first back-off procedure based on the determined clear channel assessment threshold; and transmitting a first wireless message in response to a completion of the first back-off procedure.
