Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure high safety by heightening detection accuracy of existence of a flame by removing an influence of light from the outside. SOLUTION: A signal level of an optical detection part is read before flame ignition (S2). When the value La exceeds a reference value T1 (Y in S3), it is determined that there is strong possibility of wrong detection of existence determination of the flame after ignition because an influence of outside light is too great, and thereby the flame ignition is not permitted (S4). The detected value La before the flame ignition is stored in a memory, and a determination reference of the detected value Lb when determining existence of the flame (flame failure) after ignition is determined to be T2+La (S9). Hereby, the determination reference of the flame failure is changed according to the detected value before ignition, and thereby determination having sufficient allowance is always performed.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame type atomic absorption spectro-photometer provided with a means for confirming a normal operation of a delay means when stopping auxiliary fuel gas, and enhanced remarkably in safety compared with a conventional one.
SOLUTION: An interlocking means is provided to measure a stop lag time of the auxiliary fuel gas, and to allow ignition so far as a measured result is within a prescribed range. That is, a micro processor 1 receives a signal from an ignition and extinguishment switch 5, controls opening and closing of a solenoid valve 11, 12, or 16 according to an ignition/extinguishment program stored in a storage device 3 via an input and output device 4, and delays a little bit the supply stop of the auxiliary fuel gas by the delay means to prevent backfire in the extinguishment. The lag in the supply stop of the auxiliary fuel gas is observed by a pressure sensor 19, prior to the ignition, the lag time is measured by a clocking means (counter 6) to check the presence of a trouble in the delay means, and the ignition program is not executed hereinafter, decides as combustion failure, when the measured lag time is outside the prescribed range.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-beam spectrophotometer that can obtain a large S/N ratio regardless of the number of revolutions, power-supply frequency, or power-supply voltage of a sector mirror.
SOLUTION: A counter 21 measures a synchronizing signal from a photo- interrupter 4, and a microcomputer 22 calculates the number of revolutions of the sector mirror 21. The microcomputer 22 also calculates the frequency at which the amplitude of noise becomes the maximum from the number of revolutions of the selector mirror 1, and sets the notch frequency of a notch filter to the calculated frequency. The notch filter is a digital filter and is realized by the numerical operation by means of the microprocessor 22. Since the notch filter is the digital filter, in addition, the notch frequency of the filter can be changed easily and can always be set to the optimum value. Consequently, the notch filter can damp the noise frequency components of signals obtained from a detector, and can pass the other aimed frequency components.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a spectrophotometer in which the measuring parameters can be set correctly through simple operation even for an untrained operator by providing a mode where only a part of basic parameters can be set. CONSTITUTION: At a measuring parameter setting section 2, a screen for selecting an entire parameter mode or a partial parameter mode is presented on a display 4. When an untrained operator selects and inputs 5 the latter, only the initial values of two items of measuring parameter, i.e., unit and wavelength, are displayed 4 a screen for inputting the designated value of a part of measuring parameter. When the designated values to be inputted are determined, they are delivered from the setting section 2 to a spectrophotometric section 1 as set signals along with predetermined remaining measuring parameters. The predetermined remaining measuring parameters serve as standard measuring parameters at the time of simple spectrophotometry and a photometric section 1 sets the partial and remaining measuring parameters before carrying out the spectrophotometry. Since the remaining measuring parameters are set automatically to predetermined values, even an untrained operator can set the measuring parameters correctly through simple operation.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the cost and space of a spectroscope and, at the same time, to easily assemble and adjust the spectroscope by again making spectroscopically separated luminous fluxes to incident to one spectroscope element. CONSTITUTION:In a first optical-axis plane 5, a luminous flux coming out from a slit 15 is made incident to a diffraction grating 2 after the luminous flux is reflected by a spherical mirror 7 and the diffracted light rays are condensed to another slit 16 through another spherical mirror 8. A drive device 3 holds the grating 2 in a rotated state so that a luminous flux having an aimed wavelength can pass through the slit 16. Since the spectroscopically separated light rays passed through the slit 16 contain the stray light of a single monochromator, the light rays are transferred to a second optical-axis plane 6 through plane mirrors 9 and 10. In the plane 6, the transferred spectroscopically separated light rays are introduced to a slit 17 through plane mirrors 11 and 12 and again made incident to the grating 2 after the light rays are reflected by a spherical mirror 13 and the once diffracted spectroscopically separated light rays are emitted from a slit 18 through a spherical mirror 14. Since the light rays emitted from the slit 18 only contains the stray light of a double monochromator, the rate of the stray light is small. In addition, the first and second optical-axis planes 5 and 6 are separated from each other by means of a light shield plate 4 so as to cut off the influence of the stray light.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-beam spectrophotometer capable of reducing noise being in causal relation with the number of revolutions of a sector mirror such as noise by vibration as much as possible.
SOLUTION: A sample-side luminous flux intensity and a reference-side luminous flux intensity are measured, by changing the number of revolutions of the sector mirror 41 at intervals of 1 to 2 rps. Changes in these measured intensities with time are measured, and noise (it does not matter if measured by an effective value or a peak breadth value) is measured. From among obtained noise data, the number of revolutions where the noise becomes minimum is found, the number of revolutions is stored in a storage device 23, and the sector mirror 41 is rotated at that number of revolutions in measurements after that.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a furnace type atomic absorption spectrophotometer improved in an S/N ratio without saturating a detector signal.
SOLUTION: Signal voltages detected by a photomultiplier tube 8 are stored in a memory 15 in all the combinations settable respectively for atomizing temperatures of a graphite tube 4, slit widths in a slit inside a spectrograph 6 and spectrally dispersed wavelengths, without introducing a sample into the graphite tube. When measuring the sample, an amplification factor of the photomultiplier tube 8 is regulated by a negative voltage regulator 18 in response to respective measuring conditions, or an amplification factor of the detector signal in an amplifier 10 is regulated, to conduct measurement after set in the optimum detector signal voltage. A detector signal voltage is not saturated thereby to allow the measurement at the satisfactory S/N ratio, even when the detector signal voltage is increased affected by radiation light from the graphite tube 4.
