    Abstract: It is an object to quickly disperse heat generated when short circuit occurs between a positive electrode and a negative electrode. A nonaqueous-electrolyte battery is disclosed which incorporates: an encapsulating medium (2) constituted by a laminated film in which a unit cell (1) is accommodated, wherein the laminated film of the encapsulating medium contains a metal material having a heat conductivity k at room temperatures which is 230Wm K or higher. Moreover, ratio R of the volume of the metal material portion of the encapsulating medium with respect to a capacity of 1mAh of the unit cell is 0.0002cm /mAh ≤ R ≤ 0.003cm /mAh.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a solid electrolyte battery (1) including: a first electrode (2) including a first collector (2a), and a first active material layer (2b) formed on one surface of the first collector with an outer peripheral edge portion of the first collector remaining as a collector exposed portion (2c); a second electrode (3) including a second collector (3a) and second active material layers (3b) formed on both surfaces of the second collector; and a solid electrolyte (6) interposed between the first electrode (2) and the second electrode (3); wherein the second electrode (3) is held in the first electrode (2) in such a manner that the first active material layer (2b) is opposed to each of the second active material layers (3b) via the solid electrolyte (6), and is sealed in the first electrode by joining the collector exposed portion (2c) of the first electrode to each other. This battery is allowed to be further thinned and reduced in weight, to be improved in energy density per weight and energy density per volume, and to be enhanced in air-tightness.

    Abstract: A solid electrolytic secondary battery comprising a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a solid electrolyte interposed between the electrodes, wherein the solid electrolyte contains, as a matrix polymer, a block copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene. The membrane of the block copolymer has a strong mechanical toughness and a high solvent retaining capability and, when used as a matrix polymer of the solid electrolyte, significantly improves an adhesion strength, load characteristics and lowtemperature characteristics. A constitutional ratio of hexafluoropropylene in the block copolymer is preferably 3 to 7.5 wt.% with a molecular weight of not smaller than 550,000 and a copolymer having a weight-average molecular weight (Mw) of not smaller than 300,000 and smaller than 550,000 may be jointly used.

    Abstract: A nonaqueous electrolyte battery is disclosed which is capable of improving impact resistance while airtightness of a laminate film is being maintained. When a battery element is accommodated in a casing constituted by a laminate film and the case is welded to enclose the battery element, a resin layer is provided for at least one surface of a battery element. The resin layer may be a resin plate which has previously been molded or the resin layer may be formed by enclosing resin. The resin layer is provided for two sides of all of the sides of the battery element which have smallest areas. In a case of a wound-type battery element, the resin layer is provided for the two end surfaces of the wound battery element. The resin layer has a shock buffering function to protect the battery element from impact.

    Abstract: A nonaqueous electrolyte battery is disclosed which has an improved volume energy density and satisfactory impact resistance, a heat radiating characteristic and producibility. A battery element is accommodated in a casing constituted by a laminate film so as to be sealed by welding. Electrode-terminal leads electrically conducted to electrodes which constitute the battery element are sandwiched by welded portions so as to be exposed to the outside portion of the casing. A control circuit of the battery is mounted on a welded portion of the casing. Since the control circuit of the battery is mounted on the welded portion of the casing, the space in the battery in which the battery element is not present can effectively be used. Therefore, the volume efficiency can considerably be improved.
