Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration in picture quality of a displayed picture with low power consumption and simple constitution by placing priority over picture data readout or write when the readout or write of the picture data is in contention with other readout and compensating other readout operation with a readout picture data before one period. CONSTITUTION:When a readout or write of a picture data DG by a picture data processing circuit 57 takes place at the same time the picture data DG is read by the picture data readout circuit 44, the operation of the picture data readout circuit 44 is subject to stop control and a picture data DGO read by the picture data readout circuit 44 is replaced with the picture data DGO held and read by a latch circuit 46 before one period. Thus, the picture data DGO read by the picture data readout circuit 44 is supplemented by the picture data DGO read before one period. Thus, the deterioration of the display picture is avoided by reducing power consumption with simple constitution.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a forced unnatural posture of a typist that for a long time, by displaying a typing original on a display by an image reader. CONSTITUTION:A CPU11 processes the data stored in an RAM13 based on a program stored in an ROM12 and controls each device. The character data supplied through a keyboard 22 is stored in a character memory 33. An original is picked up by an image reader 21, and this read data is stored in an image memory 32. The data of the memory 32 is read out by a CRT controller 42 and displayed at a CRT display 41. At the same time, the data of the memory 32 is read by the controller 42 and converted into the corresponding character signal through a character generator 43 to be displayed at the display 41. The original is displayed on a display, and the character supplied through a keyboard is also displayed on the display by looking at the display of the original. Thus an operator can keep a posture looking at the front side to facilitate an easy type input with no unnatural posture forced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To retrieve an objective original and to improve the operability with pattern recognition, by collecting pattern data within a prescribed range of a plurality of originals and forming a picture for indexing having the prescribed range of pattern. CONSTITUTION:When the original input mode is obtained through the operation of a keyboard 22, a CPU11 controls the program so that data picked up with an image reader 21 are written in a frame memory 31 according to the program of an ROM12. The data written in the memory 31 are thinned out at a shrinking circuit and transferred to the image memory 32, and the data in the memory 32 and characters and symbols stored in a character memory 33 are displayed on a CRT41. The keyboard is operated while observing the displayed picture and a plurality of pattern data within a prescribed range of the originals are collected to form a picture for indexing, and after these data are stored in an RAM13, they are stored in a VTR51 of a large capacity storage device. The index picture data from the VTR51 are transferred to the memory 31 to display an objective picture on the CRT41, allowing to make the retrieval operation easy.
