Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the position displacement of a material to be molded from a molding mold by matching the top of the curved surface of the a glass leans material being the material to be molded with the top of the curved surface of the molding face of a molding mold in the case of reheating press molding of glass lens. SOLUTION: In a glass lens molding method for press molding a material 14 to be molded having a curved surface shape by an upper mold 4 and a lower mold 1 having molding surfaces 15 made of curved surfaces, after the material 14 to be molded is placed on the molding surface 15 of a lower mold material 6, before the material is press molded by the upper mold 4, the lower mold material 6 is vibrated so that the material 14 to be molded is moved and aligned so as to match the center of the molding surface 15 of the lower mold material 6 with the center of the material 14 to be molded.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a meniscus lens by which the meniscus lens hardly requiring after finishing is formed by precisely holding a ball-shaped glass material at the center of a mold. SOLUTION: This method for producing a meniscus lens comprises the first step for opening a mold having a lower mold for forming the convex face of the meniscus lens to be formed, and an upper mold for forming the concave face in a glass-press forming machine, and charging a ball-shaped glass material at the center of the mold between them, the second step for flowing nitrogen gas to purge oxygen in the surrounding of the whole forming machine, the third step for closing the mold to heat and press the glass material, and the final step for opening the mold and taking out the obtained meniscus lens of the objective formed product by opening the mold. At the third step, the pressing speed when shutting the mold, is controlled so that the difference of the thicknesses of circumferential edge parts of the formed meniscus lens may be zero.
