PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the overflow of a memory for storing utilization history information and to surely transfer the utilization history information. SOLUTION: An audition right data charger 204 for giving audition right data to a player monitors the remaining capacity or use of capacity of a use condition log data memory. When the remaining capacity becomes 10%, for example, a message calling the transfer of a reproducing log is displayed on a display part 303 of the charger 204. When a user connects the charger 204 to a telephone line corresponding to this display, it is sensed and the user transfers the reproducing log to a settlement center automatically or while watching the indication. The charge of audition right data is inhibited for the purpose of unnecessitating the storage of new reproducing log until the reproducing log is really transferred. Besides, a display part 303a is provided for displaying the remaining capacity or use of capacity of the use condition log data memory. Further, a warning lamp 303b is provided to be turned on and flickered when the remaining capacity or use of capacity reaches a predetermined value.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent contents, which are to be charged at the time of decoding or reproducing, from being erroneously decoded, reproduced or acquired. SOLUTION: In order to display contents to be reproduced are charged, a display part 64 is made light (lighted up) as a whole. Besides, a charging lamp 65 to emit light is provided during the time when contents to be charged are reproduced. The charging condition can be surely known by the charging lamp 65. Further, it is reported that by generating buzzer sounds through an ear receiver 62 contents are to be charged. When a charging lock switch 66 is pressed, without deciding any one of charging and free, contents can be decoded or reproduced.
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a disk type recording medium which has a small radius and has a large data capacity. CONSTITUTION:The data recording area of a magneto-optical disk 100, which has a 64mm diameter, is divided into four zones A to D in a radial direction. The number of tracks of each zone A to D are defined as 3857, 3307, 3314 and 828, respectively. Moreover, the number of sectors per track of each zone A to D are defined as 30, 40, 50 and 60, respectively. Each sector has 512 bytes of user data. The line density of the innermost peripheral of each zone A to D are defined as approximately 0.5mum/bit, respectively. Thus, the total of user data of each zone A to D becomes approximately 238M bytes. A well-known sample servo system is selected for the tracking servo of the disk 100. Even through the line density of the innermost peripheral of each zone A to D is approximately 0.5mum, a sufficient phase margin is obtained and no problem exists by employing a partial response three value detection, for example.

PURPOSE:To easily notify the user the fact that recording unable optical disk is loaded and a recording mode is set. CONSTITUTION:A detector 26 detects the medium detection hole of a cartridge 1, a discrimination circuit 28 discriminates the kind of the optical disk located in the cartridge 1 based on the detection output and the circuit supplies the discrimination output to a system controller 22. A detector 27 detects the closure condition of an erroneous recording detection hole of the cartridge 1 by a light protection members, that is, whether a recording to the optical disk can be done or not and supplies the detection output to the system controller 22. When the system controller 22 decides that it is not possible to record on the optical disk in the cartridge 1 based on the outputs of the discrimination circuit 28 and the detector 27 during a recording mode set, the cartridge 1 is easily recognizes that the optical disk is a recording unable optical disk and he immediately finds a loading mistake of the cartridge 1.

PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of the device by dividing a signal recording part into the regions where the linear recording density are almost equal throughout the area from the inner periphery to outer periphery, and housing those of a signal recording/reproducing part which is provided with a disk of prescrived storage amount with the specific diameter, a loading device, and a controller, in an enclosure having the size smaller than a specific dimension. CONSTITUTION:In the signal recording/reproducing part, the signal recording part is divided to plural signal recording regions where the linear recording density are almost equal each other throughout the area from the inner periphery to outer periphery, and an information signal is recorded and/or reproduced by using the disk 102 housed in a cartridge, having the storage capacity of about 200MB with the diameter of 64mm. These composed parts are housed in the enclosure 1, the dimensions of which >=70mm in width, >=100mm in depth and >=24.5mm in height, including those up to a front panel 24, and also a disk cartridge port is provided thereon. Thus, the device structure can be miniaturized without reducing the storage capacity.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording/reproducing apparatus and method for easily retrieving desired audio data from a large amount of audio data while reducing the burden on a user on searching audio data, and a storage medium. SOLUTION: The recording and reproducing apparatus comprises a storing means for storing partial data corresponding to a part of each of a plurality of pieces of data stored in a storage medium, a displaying means for displaying symbols corresponding to the plurality of pieces of data, a designating means for designating a symbol displayed on the displaying means so as to designate desired data, a reproducing means for reading partial data corresponding to the designated data from the storing means and reproducing the partial data, a controlling means for controlling the reproducing means to continue to reproduce the data according to a further designation for the data by the designating means, a counting means for counting a frequency of the further designation, and an updating means for updating the symbol, depending on the counted result. SOLUTION: A voice synthesizing system is provided with a phoneme database in which phoneme data of a plurality of speakers who speak scenario data are preserved, an operation part 38 which selects a speaker in accordance with the scenario data, a retrieval part 15 which retrieves and extracts phoneme data of the speaker selected by the operation part 38 from the phoneme database, voice synthesizing processing parts 16 and 32 which convert the scenario data to a synthesized voice on the basis of phoneme data of the speaker retrieved by the retrieval part 15, and billing parts 19 and 34 which perform billing when phoneme data is selected by the operation part 38.
