Abstract:
In a method and device for signal encoding according to this invention, a first encoder (124) separately encodes noise components of a plurality of channels and a second encoder (125) commonly encodes noise components of a plurality of channels. Then a discriminating means (123) detects the characteristics of the noise components and selects the output from either of the encoders (124 and 125) based on the discriminated results. When the noise components are commonly encoded, therefore, the compression ratio of the noise components of a plurality of channels can be increased. When the components are not commonly encoded, on the other hand, undesired effects of common encoding can be prevented.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably display virtual information with high accuracy.SOLUTION: An information processor includes a photographing part for photographing a real scenery to acquire the real image, a graphic detection part for detecting a graphic image projected to the real scenery by a projector from the real image, a feature point detection part for detecting a feature point from the real image of the real scenery in real time, and a parameter generation part for overlapping virtual information on the real scenery to generate a parameter needed to display the virtual information on a display part on the basis of a first positional relation between the graphic and the photographing part, and generating the parameter on the basis of a detection result by the feature point detection part so as to continuously display the virtual information while maintaining a second positional relation to the real scenery in lastly detecting the graphic when the graphic disappears from the real image.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head-mounted display with high usability, a program for controlling the head-mounted display, and a method of controlling the head-mounted display.SOLUTION: The head-mounted display comprises a display unit, a mounting unit, a detection unit, an application selection unit, and an information management unit. The display unit is capable of displaying an image. The mounting unit is mounted on the head of a user to support the display unit in front of the user's eyes. The detection unit detects as a detection direction a direction relative to a predetermined front direction. The application selection unit selects an application on the basis of the detection direction. The information management unit causes the display unit to display an image generated by the application selected by the application selection unit.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring apparatus having further reduced size, a measuring method, and a parameter setting method.SOLUTION: This measuring apparatus is provided with: a light receiving element, which is provided at a position facing a region to be measured, the region having disposed therein a subject to be measured, and which makes light form an image, the light having been transmitted from the region to be measured; a plurality of light emitting elements, which are disposed at the periphery of the light receiving element, and output light for measuring the subject to be measured; and a reflective optical element, which is provided above the light emitting elements, and guides, to the region to be measured, the light emitted from the light emitting elements. The light receiving surface of the light receiving element, and the light output surfaces of the light emitting elements are positioned on a same plane, the light emitted from the light emitting elements is reflected by the reflective optical element, and the center lines of the light emitted from respective light emitting elements pass through substantially the center of the region to be measured.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring apparatus and measuring method for further reducing the size of the apparatus.SOLUTION: A measuring apparatus related to the present invention includes: a light receiving element for forming the image of light from a measuring target region with a measured object placed thereon; and multiple light emitting elements arranged in a ring shape around the light receiving element so as to irradiate the measuring target region with the light. The multiple light emitting elements are arranged by inclination with respect to the normal line of the measuring target region so as to allow the center lines of emission light radiated from the respective light emitting elements to pass substantially the center of the measuring target region.

SOLUTION: The communication device includes: a wireless communication part for connecting with the network via other devices by the wireless communication; a settlement processing part for executing the settlement processing of the connection charge to the network by controlling the noncontact communication part which can read information stored in the noncontact IC via the noncontact communication and write the information in the noncontact IC via the noncontact communication and updating the monetary information stored in the noncontact IC; an authentication information storage part for writing the authentication information, provided from other devices in the noncontact IC, when the noncontact communications part is controlled and the settlement processing by the settlement processing part is completed; and the authentication processing part for making the network connection by the wireless communication part established by controlling the noncontact communications part, reading the authentication information from the noncontact IC, and executing the authentication processing to other devices using the authentication information.
