A control apparatus comprising a processor, a memory, and a communication circuit configured to communicate with an input apparatus is provided. The memory device stores instructions which when executed by the processor, causes the processor to receive displacement information from the input apparatus, and at least one of: (i) generate a displacement value for displacing an operation target on a display based on the displacement information, wherein a first set of instructions is used to calculate the displacement value if the displacement information is within a predetermined range, and a second set of instructions is used to calculate the displacement value if the displacement information is outside the predetermined range; and (ii) transmit a feedback signal to the input apparatus at a timing based on the displacement information, wherein the timing is calculated differently if the displacement information is within the predetermined range than if the displacement information is outside the predetermined range.

There is provided a control method, including: outputting a displacement value depending on a displacement amount of an input device in a case where operation is input in the input device, the operation being for a control target displayed on a display apparatus, the position of the display apparatus being specified by a first coordinate system, the position of the input device being specified by a second coordinate system; calculating a displacement amount of the input device in the second coordinate system based on the displacement value; and displaying the control target, the control target being moved to a position corresponding to a displacement amount in the first coordinate system by using a transformation matrix, the transformation matrix transforming a displacement amount of the input device in the second coordinate system into a displacement amount in the first coordinate system.

Disclosed herein is a communication system having a infrared communication capability and a wireless data communication capability including, a first terminal (11) for storing provisional setting information (12) for wireless data communication containing identification information of the first terminal, and a second terminal (14) having the infrared communication capability and the wireless data communication, wherein the provisional setting information (12) is transmitted from the first terminal (11) to the second terminal (14) by the infrared communication capability, the second terminal generates first setting information with the first terminal (11) specified as a destination of connection on the basis of the received provisional setting information, the second terminal (14) makes wireless data communication with the first terminal on the basis of the first setting information and, if the wireless data communication is successful, transmits a connection completion notice to the first terminal, and the first terminal (11), having received the connection completion notice, updates the provisional setting information to generate second setting information with the second terminal specified as a destination of connection, thereby establishing wireless data communication between the first terminal (11) and the second terminal (14).

In a method and device for signal encoding according to this invention, a first encoder (124) separately encodes noise components of a plurality of channels and a second encoder (125) commonly encodes noise components of a plurality of channels. Then a discriminating means (123) detects the characteristics of the noise components and selects the output from either of the encoders (124 and 125) based on the discriminated results. When the noise components the compression ratio of the noise components of a plurality of channels can be increased. When the components are not commonly encoded, on the other hand, undesired effects of common encoding can be prevented.

WN nodes (2 to 5) set the number of clocks in low-order 12 bits of cycle time data from cycle masters (20-50) to a bus counter (102A) and an internal counter (102B). When a control block is transmitted to the WN nodes (3 to 5), the WN node (2) stores a counted value of the counter (102B) in a cycle sync area. The WN nodes (3 to 5) which receive the control block extract the counted value from the cycle sync area, generate control information for correcting a difference so as to maintain an initial value by comparing the extracted counted value and the counted value of the above-mentioned counter (102A), and transmits such control information to the cycle masters (30 to 50). Thus, the number of clocks in the low-order 12 bits of the cycle time data in the cycle masters (30 to 50) is corrected, and a time synchronization among respective buses is established. Therefore, a time synchronization among a plurality of buses may be established satisfactorily.
