Abstract:
A magnetic transducer provided with a spin valve type magnetoresistance effect element having a specially high corrosion resistance and such a rate of change of resistance that the MR inclination is larger than 0.7 %/Oe in a 1 MH3 high-frequency magnetic field region since the pinning layer is made of antiferromagnetic iron oxide FeOx. The effect element has an extremely excellent rise characteristic of the MR curve in a zero magnetic field, a small hysteresis, and a high heat resistance. The effect of the heat resistance is further enhanced when an oxygen blocking layer is interposed between the pinning layer and a ferromagnetic layer. A magnetic transducer using a magnetoresistance effect element having a multilayered magnetic film, such as an MR head, has an output voltage which is nearly five times as high as that of a magnetic transducer using a conventional material. Therefore, an extremely highly reliable excellent MR head which reads out data magnetically recorded at an ultrahigh density of > 1 Gbit/inch is provided.
Abstract:
This apparatus comprises a rotary element driven by a moving body whose moving speed is to be measured, and a detector having magnetic flux sensors. The rotary element comprises a rotary shaft (36) driven by the moving body; an upper rotary disc (31a) formed of a magnetic material and fixed to the rotational shaft (36); and a lower rotary disc (31b) made of a magnetic material and arranged under the upper rotational disc (31a) through a spacer (31c) at an interval. The spacer (31c) is formed of a soft magnetic material or a non-magnetic material. Facing this rotational body, a detector (12) is arranged. There is provided on the circumference of the upper rotary disc (31a), a first strip to be detected on which are formed adjacently in the circumferential direction an extruder circular surface (32) and a recessed part (33) in the radial direction lower than the extruded surface. On the circumference of the lower rotary disc (31b), there is provided a second strip to be detected on which are formed adjacently in the circumferential direction an extruded circular surface (34) and a recessed part (35) in the radial direction lower than the extruded surface. The extruded surface (32) constituting the first strip and the extruded surface (34) constituting the second strip are arranged at an interval d in the circumferential direction so that the surfaces are not overlapped when observed in the axial direction. The detector (12) comprises a pair of magnetic flux sensors (17a and 17b) and a permanent magnet (18) which generates the magnetic flux. The sensors are arranged in positions substantially corresponding to the edges of the first and second strips, respectively.
Abstract:
A ceramic resistor with a nonlinear voltage dependency comprising a ZnO-based sinter containing at least one rare earth element oxide, cobalt oxide, chromium oxide, at least one Group IIIb element oxide, at least one Group Ia element oxide, 0.01-2 at.% (in terms of Ca) of calcium oxide and 0.001-0.5 at.% (in terms of Si) of silicon oxide and having the atomic ratio of calcium to silicon ranging from 0.2 to 20, preferably from 2 to 6. Since this element has the above-specified atomic ratio (Ca/Si), it has an extremely long service life even under high-temperature and high-humidity conditions. Further it is reduced in the deterioration of asymmetry of the current-voltage relationship due to a difference in the direction of applying a direct current. When 0.05-10 at.% (in terms of Mg) of magnesium oxide is further added to the above composition, the above effects can be further enhanced and the grain growth is inhibited even when firing is conducted at a high temperature, with the result that the leakage current is reduced.

An electronic component device (A1) has a lead electrode at the edge thereof. A support member (A2) is opposed to the electronic component device with a gap (G) between them, and has an external connection terminal (A5) at the position opposing a lead electrode (A4). A resin layer (A3) is disposed between the electronic component device (A1) and the support member (A2) and is spaced apart by a distance (d) from the edge of the electronic component (A1). The resin layer (A3) bonds the electronic component device (A1) to the support member (A2). The distance (d) satisfies the relation G
Abstract:
A plurality of inductors and capacitors are provided by use of conductive patterns (3-1 to 3-4, 4-1 to 4-8, and 5) on dielectric layers (1-1 to 1-6) constituting a multi-layered substrate. In this case, the pairs of elements (L1 and L2, and the like) which are required to make its element constants equal among those elements (inductors and capacitors) constituting a hybrid coupler are arranged in the same layer of the multi-layered substrate. In this way, all elements required to have the same value in the multi-layered substrate can be fabricated under the same conditions (burning and others), hence making it possible to minimize the variation between the elements.
Abstract:
A vertical magnetic recording medium comprising a magnetic layer having the constitution in which two ferromagnetic metallic thin films made of columnar crystal particles are laminated, wherein the angle Υ between the average growth direction of columnar crystal particles and the substrate normal is equal to or larger than 45° at the lower layer and equal to or smaller than 30° at the upper layer, and the average maximum diameter of the lower-layer columnar crystal particles is larger than that of the upper-layer columnar crystal particles. The apparatus preferable for vapor deposition of the magnetic layer has the constitution shown in the selected figure. Because the magnetic flux of the upper layer escapes to the lower layer, it is prevented that a closed loop of magnetic flux is formed in upper-layer columnar crystal particles. Also because the lower layer is magnetized, it contributes to improvement of reproduction output.
Abstract:
A method of determining an electrochemiluminescent substance with high measurement accuracy. An operation electrode, an opposed electrode and a reference electrode are disposed in a liquid sample containing a substance which causes electrochemiluminescence by electrolytic oxidation in the presence of activated oxygen, and the operation electrode is set to an oxidation potential of the substance in the presence of activating oxygen so as to cause electrochemiluminescence on the operation electrode and to measure the quantity of emission. The present invention is useful in luminescence immunoassay utilizing an antigen-antibody reaction.
Abstract:
A filter comprising a plurality of resonators (31, 32) coupled to each other electromagnetically, wherein a common multilayer substrate (33) is provided to face one longitudinal end of each resonator (31, 32). The substrate includes interstage circuit elements configuring a filter, and input and output terminals of the filter, and the circuit elements are connected with the resonators. The main surface of the substrate is made to be positioned in a plane orthogonal to the longitudinal axis, and thus the total length of the filter including the resonators and the substrate becomes short. The multilayer substrate can have electrodes for trimming capacitors on its surface, and coil patterns in its inner part.
Abstract:
This invention relates to an artificial dental root made of ceramics, in which the outer peripheral part of the root proper to be buried into the jawbone is formed of the ceramic material integrally with the proper, the diameter of that part of the root corresponding to the dental neck and extending from a part fitted into the jawbone to the neck is made larger than that of the base of the dental root, and a tapered part formed between said base and the part corresponding to the dental neck relieves concentration of stress and ensures a high strength against, particularly, external force acting on the tooth slantwise. Even when the dental root is made up in laminate structure of the metallic core material and ceramic covering layer, exfoliation of the ceramic layer is prevented.
