    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title fine particles having a fine spherical shape and no structural fluctuation and being suitably applicable for powdery adhesives and powder coatings, by emulsifying a compatibilized body of an epoxy resin and an org. polymer in an emulsifying medium and causing phase separation of both components in the particles. CONSTITUTION:A hardly or non-water soluble org. solvent whose b.p. is 100 deg.C or lower is added to a mixture of an epoxy resin (these contg. two epoxy groups, especially bisphenol type resins are pref.) and an org. polymer (those whose glass transition temp. is 80 deg.C or lower and which are essentially linear polymers are pref.) and heated at a temp. below the b.p. of water to prepare a compatibilized body, which is them emulsified in an emulsifying medium as it is. In this instance, the emulsifying medium is an aq. liq. and an O/W type emulsion is prepd. through a W/O type emulsion in the emulsifying process. Then, the title fine particles suitably applicable for powdery, adhesives and powder coatings are obtd. by causing phase separation of the epoxy resin component and the org. polymer component in the particles by, e.g., cooling the emulsion below the phase separation temp.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the title particle which has a large surface area because of its particulate form and hence can effectively exhibit photochromic properties, and which comprises a photochromic compd.-contg. polymer in the form of particles having a specified mean particle diameter. CONSTITUTION:The photochromic polymer particle of the invention comprises a polymer contg. a photochromic compd. [e.g., 6'-nitro-1-(meth)acryloxyethyl-3,3- dimethylindolinospirobenzopyrane], e.g., a polymer obtd. by copolymerizing a photochromic compd. with a copolymerizable monomer [e.g., styrene, alkyl (meth)acrylate, etc.], and is in the form of particles having a mean particle diameter of 0.1-100mum. The particle has a large surface area because of its particulate form and hence can effectively exhibit photochromic properties. Thus, it can be used in various application fields.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent blurring to non-image parts or damaging of the surface of a printing plate from occurring, easily, obtain a beautiful printed matter and ensure favorable properties on a safety and hygienic basis, by constituting the titled liquid of ethylene glycol dimethyl ether and an alcohol and/or water. CONSTITUTION:Ethylene glycol dimethyl ether which is a good solvent for a toner to which the liquid is applied is combined with an alcohol and/or water which is a poor solvent for the toner. Although ethylene glycol dimethyl ether is able to instantaneously dissolve the toner, the sole use thereof caused blurring to non-image part. To avoid this, an alcohol and/or water is added to the ether, whereby blurring to the non-image part can be prevented from occurring, while retaining the toner-dissolving capability. The alcohol is preferably an alcohol of general formula R-OH, wherein R is 1-5C alkyl, which is low in toxicity.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title adhesive having excellent adhesive power, handleability, etc., by incorporating a specified organosilicon compound into the surface of a spherical particle comprising a mixture of an epoxy compound having a plurality of epoxy groups with a latent curing agent. CONSTITUTION:An epoxy compound having at least two epoxy groups in the molecule (e.g., bisphenol A epoxy resin) is mixed with a latent curing agent (e.g., polyvinylphenol), and this mixture is suspended in water to form a spherical powder. An organosilicon compound of the formula (wherein R is alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, vinyl, amino, epoxy, etc.; X is methoxy, ethoxy, methoxyethoxy, etc.; n is 0, 1 or 2) (e.g., methyltrimethoxysilane) is incorporated into the surface of this spherical powder to give a spherical powdery adhesive suitable as, e.g., an adhesive for electronic material.
