    Abstract: PURPOSE:To efficiently and speedily produce a stable elastic polyester of high quality having excellent mechanical properties and thermal stability by the continuous addition polymerization of a crystalline aromatic polyester and a lactone compound. CONSTITUTION:This production process is effected by the continuous addition polymerization of a crystalline aromatic polyester and a lactone compound, wherein the water content of the lactone compound is kept at 300ppm or less.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester block copolymer composition having soft texture, high melt-viscosity suiting blow-molding and excellent thermal aging resistance by compounding a lactone compound and a monofunctional or polyfunctional epoxy compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by compounding (A) a polyester block copolymer containing (A1) a crystalline aromatic polyester (preferably polybutylene terephthalate) as a hard segment and (A2) an aliphatic polyether [preferably poly(tetramethylene oxide) glycol, etc.] and/or an aliphatic polyester (preferably polycaprolactone, etc.) as a soft segment (the amount of copolymerized A2 is preferably 10-80wt.%) with (B) a lactone compound (preferably epsilon-caprolactone) at a weight ratio (A1:A2+B) of 90:10 to 20:80 and (C) 0.01-30 pts.wt. (based on 100 pts.wt. of A+B) of an epoxy compound having >=1, preferably >=2 functional groups and (D) an arbitrary catalyst (e.g. stannous diacylate).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To shorten reaction time and obtain the subject polyester useful as automotive parts, etc., in a simplified apparatus and operation with high efficiency by continuously carrying out addition polymerization of a crystalline aromatic polyester and lactone compound in a single screw extruder. CONSTITUTION:A crystalline aromatic polyester (e.g. polybutylene terephthalate) and a lactone compound (e.g. epsilon-caprolactone) are fed to a single screw extruder and subjected to continuous addition polymerization to afford the objective polyester. Further, the unreacted lactone compound is preferably removed from the resultant polyester. Furthermore, e.g. 215 to 250 deg.C temperature and 3 to 20min residence time in the extruder are preferably used as conditions of the abovementioned addition polymerization.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flame-retardant resin composition for a breaker or an electromagnetic switch, having excellent flame retardance, mechanical characteristics, fluidity in injection molding and color tone of molding, hardly causing bleedout, having excellent tracking resistance by compounding a polyalkylene terephthalate resin with a nonhalogen-based flame retardant. SOLUTION: This flame-retardant resin composition is obtained by compounding (A) a polyalkylene terephthalate resin with (B) 1-20 wt.% of a vinyl-based resin, (C) 1-30 wt.% of a phosphoric ester, (D) 20-50 wt.% of a salt of a triazine-based compound and cyanuric acid or isocyanuric acid and (E) 0-50 wt.% of a fiber-reinforced material and is useful for a breaker or an electromagnetic switch.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polybutylene terephthalate resin composition excellent in flowability in injection molding and can give injection moldings excellent in flame retardancy and mechanical properties by compounding a polybutylene terephthalate resin with red phosphor and a polyether-imide resin in a specified ratio. SOLUTION: This composition comprises 100 pts.wt. polybutylene terephthalate resin, 0.1-50 pts.wt. red phosphor, and 0.1-75 pts.wt. polyether-imide resin. It is desirable that the polyether-imide resin has a melt viscosity of 100-10,000 Pa s as measured at 370 deg.C and a shear rate of 1,000/sec. If necessary, the composition additionally contains, per 100 pts.wt. polybutylene terephthalate, 1-150 pts.wt. polyester resin and/or 1-150 pts.wt. polycarbonate resin and/or 1-200 pts.wt. fibrous reinforcement and/or 0.1-75 pts.wt. carbonation accelerator and/or 0.1-75 pts.wt. phosphoric ester. The composition can be molded into a product of any desired shape and can be molded into a product having a metal insert.

SOLUTION: This polybutylene terephthalate resin composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. polybutylene terephthalate resin, (B) 0.5-50 pts.wt. one or more kinds of ethylenic resins selected from (B1) an ethylene (co)polymer and (B2) an ethylene (co)polymer obtained by copolymerizing 0.01-15 wt.% unsaturated carboxylic acid or derivative thereof, and (C) 0.1-6 pts.wt. epoxy compound comprising (C1) at least one kind of a glycidyl ester compound and (C2) at least one kind of a glycidyl ether compound.
