    Abstract: An elastic polyester is continuously produced by continuously feeding an aromatic polyester and a lactone to an extruder (6), which is provided with a cylinder having an aspect ratio (L/D) ranging from 3 to 50 (wherein L represents the cylinder length of a reactor and D the inner diameter of the cylinder) and at least one screw and wherein the space in the cylinder provided with the screw accounts for 70 % or less of the internal volume of the cylinder, and reacting the lactone with the aromatic polyester while conducting the melting, carrying and kneading of the feed material in the extruder (6). Since the screw can be turned with a high speed, the effect of kneading can be enhanced and the reaction time can be shortened. Since the obtained elastic polyester is excellent in durability represented by thermal and weathering resistances, rubber elasticity, and mechanical properties, it has a wide range of uses such as automotive parts, electric and electronics components and machine parts.

    Abstract: COPOLYMERIZED POLYAMIDE AND A PRODUCTION PROCESS THEREOF Background of the Invention The present invention relates to a copolymerized polyamide and a production process thereof. Particularly it relates to a high quality copolymerized polyamide excellent in moldability, heat resistance, chemicals resistance, etc. and a production process thereof. Polyamides are widely used in the automobile industry and the electric and electronic industry as engineering plastics because of their excellent properties. Conventionally used polyamides are mainly nylon 6 and nylon 66. In recent years, automobile engines become higher in output and automobile engine rooms are packed more densely, to raise the atmosphere temperature, while the microelectronics industry has progressed to achieve smaller sizes and higher integration. In this situation, very thinly molded products which can withstand the use in a high temperature atmosphere are being demanded. However, nylon 6 and nylon 66 are respectively 220.degree.C and 260.degree.C in melting point (Tm), and even if they are reinforced by glass fibers, their critical heat distortion temperatures are the respective melting points. Recently, as polyamide resin compositions which can withstand the use in a high temperature atmosphere, many compositions such as terephthalic acid-containing polyamide resins and their compositions, and their glass fiber-reinforced compositions were proposed (JP59-161428A, JP59-155426A,

    Abstract: An elastic polyester is continuously prepared by continuously supplying an aromatic polyester and a lactone compound into an extruder which has (A) a cylinder having a shape of 3 represents the length of the cylinder and D represents the inner diameter of the cylinder) and (B) at least one screw and wherein (C) the occupancy ratio of the space in the inner volume of the cylinder in the screw-attached state is not larger than 70%, and reacting the aromatic polyester with the lactone compound while performing melting, delivery and kneading in the extruder, according to this process, the reaction time can be shortened, and an elastic polyester can be easily prepared at a high efficiency by simplified apparatus and operations. The obtained elastic polyester has an excellent durability represented by heat resistance and weatherability and has an excellent rubbery elasticity and mechanical properties. Accordingly, this elastic polyester can be widely used for the production of automobile parts, electric and electronic parts, machine parts and the like.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a molded piece of high quality having excellent appearance and mechanical property by specifying a brightness by Hunter and a parallel ray permeability of a melt extrusion molded piece made of copolymeric polyamide which can be obtained by at least one melt extrusion and contains a specified rate of alkylene terephthalic amide unit. CONSTITUTION: A sheet of a melt extrusion molded piece having a thickness of 0.2mm obtainable by at least one process of melt molding as a melt extrusion and consists of a copolymeric polyamide which contains 10-90wt.% of alkylene terephthalic amide unit is adjusted so as to satisfy the following properties: brightness by Hunter >70% and parallel ray permeability >70%. Such a melt molded piece is manufactured in a process for synthesizing a primary condensate of polyamide and a melt extrusion high polymerization process using a twin- screw extruder at a maximum achieving pressure of 5-23kg/cm -G and at a maximum achieving temperature of 260-330 deg.C.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To decrease the amt. of a residual liq. crystal polymer in a polycondensation reactor and improve the yield and heat stability of the polymer produced by using a specific polycondensation reactor. CONSTITUTION: In a polycondensation reactor 6, a stirrer is installed which has a bottom blade 5 and helical ribbon blades 4 attached to at least two shafts 3 of a frame which has no central shaft. The shafts 3 are located at a distance of shorter than 1/5 of the diameter of the reactor from the wall surface of the reactor. In the reactor 6, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, a diaminated arom. dihydroxy compd., and a bis(β-hydroxyethyl) ester of an arom. dicarboxylic acid are subjected to polycondensation by acetic acid removal to obtain a liq. crystal polymer having a logarithmic viscosity of 0.3dl/g or higher (in pentachlorophenol at 60 deg.C in a concn. of 0.1g/dl) and a melt viscosity of 10-20,000P.
