    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain an electret material having strong electric action on the outside and stable electric charge for a long period of time. CONSTITUTION:An electret material comprises positive and negative charges divided into a sea and an island regions on the surface wherein the whole area ratio of island region of positive or negative electric charge on the surface is 25-60%, the whole area ratio of sea region of the opposite electric charge on the back is 40-95% and the polarity of both the surface and the back is opposite polarity on the whole.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a high-quality, uniformly coated leather-like sheet by coating the surface of a fiber sheet of multi-component fibers with a coating material containing a tentatively colored high-molecular-weight polymer, and removing a part of the multi-component fibers and coloring component by extraction with a solvent for decolorization. CONSTITUTION: In this method, a tentatively colored coating material, preferably containing a high-molecular-weight polyurethane polymer, (i.e., colored with a dye having no dyeing affinity for the polymer) is applied to the surface of a fiber sheet of multi-component fibers (e.g. sea-and-island type composite fibers), in which two or more types of very fine polymer fibers showing different solubility in a solvent are entwined with each other by jetting of a high speed fluid, embossing the sheet is embossed, and the sheet is treated with a solvent capable of dissolving part of the multi-component fibers and colored component, to a part of the multi-component fibers and the colored component is decolored and removed, in order to obtain the flexible, uniformly coated, leather-like sheet. Tentatively coloring the sheet facilitates discovery of the uneven coating and decolorization/removal of the unevenly coated portions, and gives a leather- like sheet with silver surfaces, dyed by a desired color.
