Abstract: The present invention aims to provide a method for producing a sugar liquid by repeating a sugar liquid production process comprising the Steps (1) to (3) below: (1) the step of adding a filamentous fungus-derived cellulase to cellulose to perform primary hydrolysis; (2) the step of adding a fresh filamentous fungus-derived cellulase to the hydrolysate in Step (1) to perform secondary hydrolysis; and (3) the step of subjecting the hydrolysate in Step (2) to solid-liquid separation to obtain a sugar liquid, from which a recovered enzyme is obtained; wherein the recovered enzyme obtained in Step (3) is used for Step (1) of the next and later sugar liquid production processes. By this, the present invention provides a method for reducing the amount of enzyme used, such as cellulase, in a method for producing a sugar liquid from pretreated cellulose.

Abstract: A method for producing a sugar solution, which comprises steps (1) to (3) mentioned below. The method enables the utilization of a hydrothermal treatment solution of a cellulose-containing biomass, which has been treated as a liquid waste, for the production of a sugar solution. Step (1): subjecting a cellulose-containing biomass to a hydrothermal treatment and then separating the resultant solution into a hydrothermal treatment solution and a cellulose-containing solid material. Step (2): adding a filamentous fungus-originated cellulase to the cellulose-containing solid material produced in step (1) to cause cellulose to be hydrolyzed, and then separating the resultant solution into a glycosylation residue and the sugar solution. Step (3): washing the glycosylation residue produced in step (2) with the hydrothermal treatment solution obtained in step (1) to cause the filamentous fungus-originated cellulase, onto which the glycosylation residue has been adsorbed, to be eluted in the hydrothermal treatment solution, and then subjecting the resultant solution to solid/liquid separation to produce a solution component containing the filamentous fungus-originated cellulase.

Abstract: A method for producing a sugar solution, which comprises the steps of filtrating a sugar solution by allowing the sugar solution to pass through a nano-filtration membrane and then collecting the sugar solution from the non-permeation side of the membrane, wherein a sugar solution containing an organic liquid compound having a relative permittivity of 17 or more at 25˚C is filtrated by allowing the sugar solution to pass through the nano-filtration membrane. In this manner, the loss of a sugar toward the permeation side of the nano-filtration membrane can be reduced.
