Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject resin composition, composed of a nylon resin and a polyolefin, in which high stiffness and impact resistance can be compatible with each other by uniformly dispersing a disperse phase into a matrix resin so as to have a specific size and shape. SOLUTION: This resin composition comprises (A) 95-5 wt.% nylon resin and (B) 5-95 wt.% polyolefin and satisfies the following items (i) to (iii) at the same time: (i) Number-average of maximum diameter of disperse phase is =0.3 μm maximum diameter to total disperse phase is =1.8. The component A is preferably nylon 6 or nylon 66. The component B includes preferably polyethylene, polypropylene, ethylene-propylene copolymer or the like. The resin composition excellent in low water absorption properties, high gas barrier property or the like can be provided thereby.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To stop the polymerization reaction while dispensing with the removal of a catalyst by adding a specified hindered amine compound to a polymer obtained through bulk polymerization of trioxane, etc., in the presence of a boron trifluoride base catalyst. CONSTITUTION: A polymerization reaction is stopped by adding a hindered amine compound of the formula (wherein R to R are each 1-5C alkyl; n is an integer of 1 or greater; and R is an n-valent organic residue) to a polymer obtained through bulk polymerization of trioxane or a mixture of trioxane with a cyclic ether and/or a cyclic acetal in the presence of at least one polymerization catalyst selected from the group consisting of BF3 , BF3 hydrates and coordination compounds of BF3 with O- or S-containing organic compounds. The polymer obtained by adding the hindered amine compound to stop the polymerization reaction dispenses with the removal of the catalyst. Accordingly, the production process can be greatly shortened, while a polymer with very high thermal stability can be obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition excellent in flame retardancy, moldability, hydrolytic resistance and mechanical properties and free from bleeding by compounding a thermoplastic resin with a polyphosphate polymer having a specific structure. CONSTITUTION: This composition is composed of (A) 100 pts.wt. of a thermoplastic resin (preferably, a thermoplastic polyester resin such as polybutylene terephthalate or a mixture of the resin with a phenoxy resin) and (B) 1-100 pts.wt. of a polyphosphate consisting of constructing units of formula I (Ar is a divalent aromatic residual group; R1 is a 1-12C alkyl, an aryl, etc.; n expresses a number-average molecular weight and is >=40) (preferably, a hydroquinone-type polyphosphate of formula II). The component B is generally obtained by polycondensing phosphoric acid dichloride with a bisphenol. Preferably, the composition is further compounded with a salt of (iso)cyanuric acid with melamine, benzoguanamine or acetoguanamine.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a flame retardant for synthetic resins which is prepared by coating specific flame retardants with a specific not-triazine oligomers or polymer, thus is excellent in resistance to hydrolysis and to humid heat without liberation of hazardous gases. CONSTITUTION:(A) A flame retardant of more than 1g/100g solubility in water at 20 deg.C (preferably a phosphorus-containing compound of ammonium polyphosphate and/or polyphosphoramide) is coated with (B) non-triazine oligomers or polymer of 15-60dyne/cm critical surface tension at 20 deg.C, preferably a fluorine oligomer or polymer such as polytetrafluoroethylene to give this flame retardant. Further, said flame retardant, preferably in less than 100mum particle sizes is dispersed in a synthetic resin such as polyolefin to give this flame retardant composition. Additionally, it is preferred that this composition be further combined with a salt from a compound of the formula (R -R are each H, an aryl; R is H, an aryl) and (iso)cyanuric acid.
