    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low-refractive index film for preventing reflection of light which is easily formable at a low refractive index by incorporating a specific perfluoroic compd. and a compd. having a mol.wt. of at least twice the mol.wt. of the perfluoroic compd. into the film. SOLUTION: This film contains the perfluoroic compd. A which consists of 1 to 14C fluorine-contained org. compd. residue (R) and 2 to 4 molecules of an org. compd. (P) capable of forming a polymerizable terminal group within the molecule by conjugation with (R), contains at least two pieces of the polymerizable terminal groups within one molecule and is expressed by formula and the compd. B which has the mol.wt. of at least twice the mol.wt. of the perfluoroic compd. A. In the formula, (n) denotes an integer of any of 2 to 4. The perfluoroic compd. A having a (meth)acryloyl group and/or epoxy group in the polymerizable terminal group is preferable. A polymer of a monofunctional (meth)acrylate compd. is optimum as the compd. B.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound having low reflection property and excellent in scratch resistance and capable of readily providing optical thin film by constituting a fluorine-containing compound so as to have a specific chemical structure. SOLUTION: This fluorine-containing compound is represented by a general formula, A -O(CH2 )n -Rf-(CH2 )n O-A [A and A are each a group of formula I or formula II (R is H or CH3 ); Rf is a perfluoroalkylene; (n) is an integer of 0-3], e.g. a compound of formula III. A compound containing one unsaturated double bond and rich in fluorine content, e.g. 2,2,2-trifluooroethyl methacrylate is preferably added thereto in order to lower refractive index of optical thin film. A small amount of difluorovinyl compound is added thereto in order to increase optical thin film hardness. A polyfunctional monomer such as triethylene glycol di(meth)acrylate in an amount of =1.56 high refractive index in order to increase antireflective effect of thin film.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition having excellent weather resistance, water repellency, stain resistance and low frictional properties consisting essentially of a copolymer comprising specific two kinds of (meth)acrylic acid esters and a vinyl monomer containing an unsaturated group at the end. CONSTITUTION:The aimed composition consisting essentially of a copolymer comprising (A) 3-30wt.% (meth)acrylic acid esters shown by the formula (Rf is >=10F fluoroalkyl or perfluoroalkyl-containing substituent group; n is 1 or 2; R is H or methyl), (B) 20-60wt.% 5-25C alicyclic alkyl group-containing (meth) acrylic acid esters and (C) 10-77wt.% vinyl monomer (e.g., styrene or vinyl acetate) containing an unsaturated group at the end. Further the composition preferably comprises (D) 3-30wt.% functional group-containing vinyl monomer in the copolymer and a crosslinking agent capable of being reacted with the functional group.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent lowering of the optical transmission performance of the titled optical fiber, even in case of using it under heating for long period by using a homopolymer contg. a compd. having one or more of double bonds capable of effecting a vinyl polymerization in a specific molecule, or the copolymer copolymerized said compd., as a core component of the titled optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:In the titled optical fiber contg. the polymer formed by the vinyl polymerization as the core component, the titled optical fiber is formed of the homopolymer contg. a phosphorous compd. which has a molecular group contg. one or more of the double bonds capable of effecting the vinyl polymerization in the molecule and is shown by formula I, or the copolymer copolymerized with said phosphorous compd., as the core component. In the formula, (n) is an integer of 1, 2 or 3, R is a molecular group, at least one of R groups contains a double bond capable of effecting the vinyl polymerization. Thus, the reduction of the optical transmission performance of the titled optical fiber can be prevented, even in case of using it under heating for the long period.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber having the improved heat resistance by using a specific polymer as a core component and by incorporating a phosphorous contg. hindered phenol compd. to the polymer of the core component. CONSTITUTION:The polymer constituting the core component of the titled fiber is composed of the polymer of polymethylmethacrylate copolymerized with 5-40mol% methacrylate having 8-20 C alicyclic hydrocarbon group as an essential component. The polymer of the core component contains the phosphorus contg. hindered phenol compd. The polymer constituting a sheath component of the titled fiber has a lower refractive index than that of the polymer of the core component and is composed of a fluorine contg. polymer. Thus, the titled fiber having the improved thermoresisting property, without damaging translucency and mechanical property of the titled fiber, is obtd.
