Abstract: PURPOSE:To stably spin fibers of fine size suitable for clothing fabrics without an problems in spinning properties, by extruding a polyester consisting essentially of polyethylene terephthalate through nozzle holes of specific shape under specified condition. CONSTITUTION:A polyester containing ethylene terephthalate in an amount of >=85mol% based on constituent units is melt extruded and spun through a spinneret having pi-shaped nozzle holes satisfying the formulas 0.05 =0.20(mm), h>=0.30(mm), Z1 and Z2>=0.10(mm) and 75 deg. =0.015(cm /sec.cm). The position where quenching is started in a chimney is set at 30-100(mm) below the spinneret surface. Quenching air is blown from an annular external blowing chimney (>=200mm quenching length of the chimney) on the outer peripheral surface of the yarn at 30-90(m/min) air velocity.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the titled staple fiber having a straight part at least one end of fiber terminal and spinnable without causing the troubles of nepping and web breakage even if three-dimensional crimps of high percentage crimp and large number of crimps are actualized. CONSTITUTION:A straight part having a total length of 20-50% and essentially free from development of crimp by the heat-treatment at =1.5. The fiber length of the staple fiber is >=50mm. The spinnability of the fiber can be maintained even by spinning after cotton dyeing. Most part of the fluffs are straightened to prevent entanglement. It has high resistance to slip-off and a woven or knit fabric produced therefrom has excellent feeling, bulkiness, softness and suringness.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled yarn having dimensional stability, compression- resistant recovery, and impact resilience, by crimping straight tow of specific polyester yarn in a wet state at a constant temperature, setting the crimp, drying the yarn. CONSTITUTION:Undrawn yarn of polyester comprising >=85mol% ethylene terephthalate based on total constituent units, having 0.45-0.55 intrinsic viscosity 1-7 denier single yarn fineness, and 100-1,000 times bending strength is formed by melt spinning, drawn, and heat-treated at 100-220 deg.C to give straight tow. Then, the straight tow is crimped at a temperature range =10wt% water content of the tow to give 3-15 peaks/in. number of crimp and 3-15wt% degree of crimp, the crimp is set, and the tow is dried to give the aimed yarn.
