    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the titled molded article composed mainly of a polyarylene sulfide and containing a specific diphenyl ether compound, producible easily and stably by melt-molding process at a low cost and having high strength and excellent toughness and low-temperature characteristics. CONSTITUTION:The objective molded article can be produced by compounding (A) a polyarylene sulfide (preferably a polyphenylene sulfide composed mainly of poly-p-phenylene sulfide) or a blended composition of the polyarylene sulfide and other polymer with (B) a diphenyl ether compound of formula I (R1 is organic group; R2 is H or organic group such as alkyl, phenyl, arylene, etc.), preferably a compound of formula II, III, etc. (A1 and A2 are alkyl; n>=1; m>=1) before or during the melt-molding of the component A at a ratio to give a molded article containing >=0.01wt%, preferably 0.1-20wt% component B.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance stability and to reduce the content of a dispersant in an emulsion like substance containing water as a main dispersing medium, by containing a high- molecular highly water absorbable substance while bringing the wt. ratio of water and the high-molecular highly water absorbable substance to a specific range. CONSTITUTION:In an emulsion like substance containing water as a main dispersing medium, at least a high-molecular highly water absorbable substance (e.g., a substance prepared by graft polymerizing acrylic acid with starch) is contained and the wt. ratio of water and the aforementioned high-molecular highly water absorbable substance is set to a range two times or more the water absorption rate of the high-molecular highly water absorbable substance. As a result, the stability of an emulsion becomes extremely high. In addition, even an extremely small amount of a high-molecular highly water absorbable substance difficult to emulsify can be emulsified and, because the amount of the high-molecular highly water absorbable substance is reduced, physical properties of a substance to be dispersed after coagulation is good. Furthermore, the size of the substance to be dispersed can be enlarged as compared with a conventional emulsion. These properties lower the difficulty of an emulsion to a large extent.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:The titled ultrafine fiber, having the same color fastness as the fiber of ordinary denier, obtained by drawing a filament yarn of a diamine-terminated nylon-6 at a specific draw ratio. CONSTITUTION:A diamine-terminated nylon-6 wherein the ends of the molecule are terminated with a diamine, e.g. hexamethylenediamine, preferably as an island component, and a polystyrene as a sea component are spun into an island-in-sea type composite filament yarn or tow, which is then drawn at 40-120 deg.C at a draw ratio of 3 or more, preferably 4 or more, to give the objective ultrafine fiber of fineness per fiber 0.3 de or less and color fastness grade 3 or higher. The water content of the undrawn fiber is preferably 15wt% or less.
